First and foremost, congratulations to SixTONES for the debut announcement! Also the 19 venue tour!! I'm so proud of them for how far they come, and I'm so happy their hard work is finally being rewarded. I hope that Sony Music will promote them well!

Backing up, I watched the Junior concert livestream today! It was really weird to just be able to stream a Johnny's concert live, lol. It was really cool, though! And I'm so glad I got to hear the debut announcement live (and congrats to Snow Man as well!)

I'm about to head to bed, but I just wanted to say how excited I am that this group who I've been following since they were formed back in 2012 is finally going to debut!

(This was supposed to be posted in April and somehow I was unaware that it didn't get posted o_o; So please pretend that it was posted at the correct time...)

What's been going on over the past couple months?

♡ Worldista! I saw it on opening day in Shizuoka and then twice in Miyagi. It's not as good as Epcotia or Neverland in my opinion, but it's still quite good! My seats were fine in Shizuoka, but I was in the arena both days in Miyagi, so from my subjective standpoint I've certainly been enjoying it a lot XD; I'm seeing it again twice in Saitama and twice in Nagano (I hit for both the shows in Nagano, thank god, so I'm done buying tickets for this show), so hopefully I'll have good seats for those, too!

♡ I saw SixTONES in Yokohama, and it was a good show! I'm happy for them that they've been doing so well recently. Kouchi's Magical Song was really cute, and I also enjoyed Hokuto's artistic solo (though I'm honestly crushed that I missed him performing Ayame last year). I hope that they have more success from now on!

♡ I had a good Spring Break and am currently enjoying Golden Week! I ended up going out a lot during Spring Break and was pretty tired, so I'm enjoying mostly relaxing during Golden Week XD; I did hanami in Meguro during Spring Break, though, and saw all the paper lanterns for JUMP members! It's really fun that the trend of buying lanterns for your tan is spreading; I spotted 4 for Inochan!

♡ The season of Kaseifu no Mitazono with Inochan started! Inochan has been super cute. It's funny and easy to watch, so I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

♡ I saw the Shounentachi movie, and, despite that it was terrible, I really enjoyed it, lol. They adapted it a lot from the regular SixTONES and Snow Man version of the play (can't speak to older versions or Osaka versions since I haven't seen them), which made it a lot better, especially for the movie format, but the script, the filmography, and a lot of the acting was really just horrible. XD; Still, it was also really gay, so I mean, what else could you want. It had similar elements in terms of the gay aspects to Bakaleya, which was very cute and nostalgic, and Reia's role was extremely brief but also amazing, which I enjoyed a lot. XD All in all, if you want to see a good movie definitely don't go, but if you want to see a movie about Johnny's Juniors forming ~bonds of companionship and what have you, I recommend it XD;

This is a comprehensive list of all of the Johnny's Concerts and events I've been to. Those for which I've written reports have a link to the report underneath. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to write a report for every concert I've been to, but if you have a specific question about any of the shows or events here (for example, for clarification about something you read on Twitter), please don't hesitate to comment, and I'll be happy to help!

I have also written a comprehensive venue guide here. If you have questions about any of the venues here (for example, if you can buy food inside the venue), please check that post first, but if your question isn't covered, again, please feel free to ask me here or on that post in the comments!

I'm happy to help fans going to concerts or venues for the first time, so I hope this can be of use, and please let me know if you have any questions beyond what I've written here!

Whew, long time no see, LJ. I can't believe how quickly summer flew by, but I'm also amazed at all the things that happened. Looking back...

☆ As I mentioned previously, I went back to America for two weeks in July. My current workplace has summer vacation about two weeks earlier than my previous job, so it was a little off from previous years, and it actually had me sort of jumbled up based on things I usually am able to do surrounding my summer break (for example, I missed The Music Day, which was annoying, but all in all, I had a good, relaxing time at home with my family! I got to see my pets, eat nostalgic foods, and watch American TV, so... that's a win for me? XD;

☆ After getting back, I randomly was able to go see Reia when Seven Men Samurai appeared in the Hi Hi Jets Summer Station show. [livejournal.com profile] yomimashou is still a member of the Junior fanclub, and we balloted on a whim when we heard that Reia was going to appear... and hit! It was really nice to see him perform again (he's still wonderful and talented ♥), but man did I feel like a grandma surrounded by all the screaming teenagers there to see some teenagers who think they're really cool. I don't know anything about Hi Hi Jets and I have absolutely nothing against them, but I have to say, the appeal was lost on me. It was sort of depressing to know that I'm getting old. |D;

☆ The next day, I went to see Massu's play at the Globe. Despite the fact that [livejournal.com profile] yomimashou and I balloted for it 15 times (!!!), we didn't hit even once, and had to pay a stupid amount for resale tickets for the very last row, but it was definitely worth it! A musical made up of only Johnny's songs was, as expected, pretty great, and I always enjoy Massu's singing. His acting left something to be desired, but that wasn't really the point of the play, anyway, and it was just a really fun watch from beginning to end.

☆ In the meantime, both Shige and Inochan's dramas started! Having both of my tans have dramas at once has been a really strange and overwhelming experience (I've bought so many magazines in the past few months!), but I'm really happy about it! Unfortunately, Inochan's airs past midnight on a week night, so I'm not able to watch it in real time, but I've been recording it each week. While it's sort of weird and goofy with a lot of sex and otherwise body-related humor, which is not usually to my taste, it somehow fits Inochan well, and his character is pretty delightful. I'm actually not totally caught up right now, but I'm looking forward to when I get the chance to watch the most recent episodes.

☆ On that topic, COSMIC☆HUMAN is also a really great song that I really enjoy a whole lot, and I'm so happy Inochan had such a perfect song for his drama theme song. The sales weren't great in comparison to JUMP's recent sales, which was sad, but I'm just happy Inochan had such a really wonderful single made for the theme song for his drama.

☆ Meanwhile, Shige's drama actually started while I was in America, which was crappy timing, but after the first episode, I've been able to watch in real time. The premise is extremely goofy (the parallels to Yu-gi-oh are a little ridiculous, and Shige's character was supposed to be a high schooler in the original manga, which shows in his behavior if you ask me, lol) and I feel like they're trying to fit a 26 episode (two anime seasons) series into 10 episodes (presumably? Most dramas run 10 episodes), but it suddenly got way better last week, and this past week's episode (episode 6) was a real treat. In particular, I really am enjoying Tego's performance (I was not expecting that!), as well as the way the stories have started to turn out maybe slightly more nuanced and slightly less straightforwardly "let's solve this with the power of friendship by the skin of our teeth" shonen anime style. I really hope it continues to go well for the second half of the drama!

☆ Relatedly, I also really like Ikiro as a song, and I'm anxiously awaiting the CD release (which is sadly distant). Seeing the guys sing it really emotionally, enough so that Tego cried, at the 15th anniversary concert really moved me, and it's really grown on me especially since then. I'm also waiting with bated breath to find out what's in the mystserious anniversary box (though they did give some spoilers in the concert).

☆ Tying into that previous point, I saw Strawberry both days at Ajinomoto Stadium, and boy do I never want to see another open air concert ever again in my life. I'll try to write up a report at some point (I know, I know...), but the humidity was killer, and having so many people in that venue made the logistics of going to the stadium, getting inside, getting out again, and getting home totally miserable. The arena in particular was set up really awfully, with only two entrances that had pinch points such that people basically had to wait in a single-file line to get into the arena, which is what led to the show starting so late on Saturday. But, the guys did a really good job with the set up and (presumably) minimal rehearsals that they had, and I had a really great time. Happy 15th anniversay, NEWS! They've gotten through so much, and I'm really proud of them.

☆ JUMP's album comes out this week, which I'm looking forward to! I don't really like the dance style that they've chosen this time (the light and fluffy cute pop style is more to my taste), but I'm still interested to see what they do with it, and I really can't wait to hear Inochan's solo! I'm really, really excited that they're finally having solos for the first time, so I'm definitely on the edge of my seat to see what he does with it. I'm also going to see one of the Tokyo shows of the tour, so I'm interested to see what they have planned for the tour, as well.

☆ Maybe the last bullet point of this stupidly long post is that I recently bought a Wii. You may be thinking this was an interesting life choice 10 years after the Wii was originally introduced, but... I really wanted to have the Wii Fit game so that I could work out in my own home. I made Miis of all the Johnny's I like (as you do, lol) and I'm enjoying cycling and jogging and doing other goofy excercise activities with them, so I think it's been a success so far. XD;

I can't believe that August is more than halfway over! Work is about to go back into a busy cycle, but at least I'm prepared now that I've been here for a year. Ganbarimasu!

Back from Tokyo, and from seeing Shounentachi for a second time, and also the saien of *pnish*'s Samurai Mode! I'm going to try to write up Shounentachi this year (and also write up last year's for posterity, because I really enjoyed last year's more), but right now, I'm totally in awe of how great Samurai Mode was. Please forgive the non-Johnny's gushing and rambling... it's super nostalgic for me and I want to get all my feelings out XD;

Spoilers for Samurai Mode! )

I know I'm really behind in stuff, but I needed to get all my nostalgic feelings out, ahaha ^^;;; And seriously, if you're into theatre and in Japan, I definitely recommend *pnish*'s works!

In an all-time actually not all time (I did this meme on January 13 in 2008) record of lateness, here is my regular New Year's meme! It's always interesting to look back on the year, and to compare to the year previous, so I always enjoy doing this. ♥

In your archive, find the first post for every month of 2015, and copy and paste the first sentence here.

hey!say!27年 )

Despite that there were ups and downs this year just like any other year, I'm really glad to see that my posts were largely positive. I'm going to try to keep doing my best to make 2016 as positive as possible, too!

I always do the same 3 memes at the beginning of every year, so here's the first! This is the writing meme, where I link and talk about all my fics from 2015. It's always interesting me to look over all my work from one year together, so hopefully it's interesting to people who are not me, too. ^^;; So without further ado:

Fics for 2015! )

While fic writing in 2015 had its ups and downs, I wrote some things I really like this past year. ♥ Here's to hoping I can continue to produce works I'm proud of in 2016, too!

Next up in the list of Stupidly Late Reports is Gamushara Summer Station. I attended the show on August 7th (so yes, this is two months late, I'm so sorry), which was a Sha vs. Ra show, because of course, I wanted to see Reia and Jinguji together ♥ It's sad that they weren't on the same team this year ;__; But I also really wanted to see the team with the most members of SixTONES, too, which happened to be Reia's team, so it all worked out well~ Of course, I was dressed in blue rooting for Team Sha! But really, both teams did very well!

This isn't going to be a complete and total report because you can easily find a setlist on twitter, and things that were important to some people probably didn't stand out to me, and vice versa. I'm just going to try to write about the things that I enjoyed. If you're interested, please check under the cut!

Gamushara! Summer Station, August 7th, 2015 @ 5 pm )

Whew! Only one more report left… that I'm definitely not getting done before JUMPing CARnival in Yokohama, OTL. Oh well… at least I won't be more behind than before… T___T;;
faded_lace: (Yugo: golden)
First and foremost, NEW JUMP SINGLE!!! I was so excited when I saw the announcement. Rumour has it that it's going to be for a face wash commercial? But whatever it's for, I'm really excited and happy. ♥

But in terms of my life, this weekend was a lot of fun! Shounentachi was really good, and I enjoyed it a lot for a lot of reasons. The SixTONES guys were amazing; they clearly worked hard, and while, to my dancer's eyes, it was clear they weren't on the same level as Snow Man, I think they basically held their own. They were super cute and totally put their hearts into the show, and you could tell. I don't want to spoil anything here (I'll write a report after I see it for the second time), but Yugo and Jesse were seriously adorable. Hokuto was super super cute, too, and they were all really amazing. Also, new song!!! It was really amazing to see them in their own costumes made for them singing their own song made for them… ;____; Three years ago, when I first saw them live in concert in Bakaleya Summary, I never would have believed something like this would happen. They've come so far and I'm so proud of them!

Our tickets for this show (row E) were, as it turns out, the 8th row, because I didn't realize that the first three rows were XA, XB, and XC, and they were also all the way off to one side, but I was right next to the door to the hall, so I got to see some of the guys really close when they came in the door. We were also still really close to the stage and able to see the guys acting really, really well, so it was a great experience. The tickets I hit for, though, during Silver Week, are for row C, and also in the center section, and right on an aisle that a lot of the guys go down during various parts of the show, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what that's like!

For now, though, I have two weeks of downtime to catch up on everything that I let slide during the craziness that was the beginning of the term and the English Speech Contest. I'm really sorry if I haven't responded to people's messages and comments yet, I promise I'm getting there!!

Today was a really rough day for a lot of reasons, so I'm just going to take this chance to show off my penlight collection, because it's something small and easy to talk about it and I'm happy with it.

Penlights under here! )

Hopefully tomorrow is a better day. Trying to keep looking forward to this weekend, at the very least…

Whew. This has been a really long week. Going to Nagoya was so much fun, but man was it hard to get back into the swing of things once I got back XD Having mini-orientations for the new ALTs has been really tiring, and I don't have any energy left by the end of the day. On the bright side, today my guy friend came over to watch more JUMP videos, and he seemed to continue to love Chinen, so that's good XD;;

I'm really sorry all my entries have been so sort and crappy recently; I do actually have real content to post, but because I'm so tired by the end of the day, it doesn't end up posted. But I have various photos I want to post, and I'm going to get done my reports one day, I promise, so just bear with me? I'm sorry I'm such a boring person.

On the bright side of small things I've managed, I updated my list of events with report links here, and I've gone to 57 concerts and events so far! Wow! I'm looking forward to adding Shounentachi in September and the last 3 shows of JUMPing CARnival in October!
faded_lace: (Reia: cute)
I'm back from Tokyo! Gamushara was amazing; I enjoyed it way more than I was expecting. Reia was wonderful as alway, and I really enjoyed everyone there. And team Ra won, so that pretty much made it perfect. ♥ I really am going to try to get a report out, but I have about a million and one fandom things on my plate right now, so it may be a little while.

In other news I lost my voice at Gamushara, and I'm still recovering from jet lag, so I'm not doing much. XD; Yay for sitting in the air conditioning during summer break.
faded_lace: (Yamachii: cuddles)
Looks like I'll be seeing the Gamushara Summer Station from the balcony! I'm pretty happy with that; I like the balcony and there's less… claustrophobia and the feeling of being crushed? XD You're still really close, either way, so I'm looking forward to it!

In other news, I'm totally sad that new JUMP photos have come out in the shop and I won't be able to get them until after I get back from America T__T; I don't know if I mentioned it here before, but I'm visiting America to see my family and stuff in two weeks… and I won't be able to get to Tokyo before then, sigh. I also really want to get paparazzi photos from Waku Waku T___T; I guess it'll all have to wait until August.

Sorry that 90% of my posts are boring life updates lol. Summer break starts in two weeks and I'm so ready. Once I get recharged, hopefully I'll be more interesting. |D;

Unrelatedly, I love this song liek woah. Kitty Ino-chan. ♥
faded_lace: (Yugo: golden)
Recently, I've been getting a lot more hits and kudos on AO3 on my Bakaleya6 SixTONES fic than I have in the past 2 years or so of having them up there. In particular, I've been getting attention on my fics about Yugo (most of my SixTONES fics are about Yugo, so that doesn't say much, but XD), which is really new and different, because I feel like, for the most part, people don't really read fics about Yugo, in gneral. So I'm really happy that the announcement of SixTONES' official group name has sort of brought back people's interest in the group, and maybe even gotten some people to read about Yugo when they might not have before &heart;

…it's also made me realize that I've typoed the titles and info on so many fics on AO3 ahahaha oops. I really need to get in there and fix that some day…
faded_lace: (MatsuMatsu: bffs ♥)
And here's the report for the Sunday show of Gamushara J's Party Vol. 7! It's been a long time, so my memory has faded some, but here's what I remember. It was a really cute show ♥

Gamushara J's Party Vol. 7! )

Whew. That took more effort than I expected |D;;; I didn't get much done this weekend, did I? T__T;;; Oh well, now that I'm well rested I'll try to keep up my productivity over the next week!
faded_lace: (Hokuto: glowing)
I'm finally getting around to writing up my experience at Gamushara J's Party Vol 7… only 5 months too late. I'm so sorry T___T; I'm not even sure this is interesting to anyone anymore, but I want to save them for my own memory, if nothing else. As always, it's just things that stuck out to me, not a complete setlist or anything like that! But I hope it's still enjoyable~

Gamushara! )

I'm going to write up Sunday's afternoon performance too, but I ran out of time tonight. Sorry about that! I'll try to get it done tomorrow. ^^;
faded_lace: (Reia: cute)
I'm going to try to get my quick write up of Crea done now before my memory fades! Because 1) the show was extremely short (an hour and 15 minutes, plus two encores, making it about an hour and 30 minutes total), 2) I went alone, so I don't have anyone to help refresh my memory, and 3) I honestly don't have that much to say about it, this is going to be a short bullet-point writeup, rather than full report. As always, the focus is the experience for me, not the setlist or every detail, which you can probably find on twitter. Also, seeing as it's me, it's going to be pretty Reia-focused, because Reia is who I watched. That being said, I included information about other guys, too-- just a warning that I had my Reia goggles on while watching.

Johnny's Ginza @ Theatre Crea, 2015.5.12 )

Sorry that was sort of short and lame, but it was sort of a short and lame show XD; I hope it was at least somewhat informative and amusing, though.
faded_lace: (Chinen&Takaki: intimacy)
I started to write a Crea writeup, but work was too busy today, and I had a ton of over-work, so I ended up not being able to finish. I'll try to get it done tomorrow!

Teaching elementary the day after a concert and 5 hours of trains is exhausting @__@; Today was a particularly rough day due to some 12 year olds who think they're too cool for school, but… I came home and watched several episodes of TakaChii in France, and that totally made up for it! I watched the beginning of the show back in 2013, shortly after it aired, but I stopped about 4 episodes in and never picked it up again for a variety of reasons. Now that late 2011 ~ early 2013 are firmly in the past, it's much more enjoyable, and though I'd seen all of the episodes I watched again today, I'm looking forward to continuing this time.

My life is so exciting, I know. |D;

[EDIT] I counted just now, and my last time at Karafuto Ojisan was my 50th Johnny's event! Happy 50 to me! I know it's not that big of a deal, but it seems like it is, anyway XD;
faded_lace: (Hokuto: glowing)
Just a quick drive by post to say I'm going to Nara and Osaka for 5 days for Golden Week, so I'll be away from my computer! I'll be checking my email and (hopefully) getting comment and PM notifications, so you can still reach me, it might just take a while for me to get back to you!

Also, congratulations to the former Bakaleya6 on getting an official group name! 6 Tones~ I hope this means good things for them in the future!
faded_lace: (Reia: cute)
I know it's pretty late now, but back on the 2nd, I celebrated Reia's birthday with my friends in Yamanashi ♥ We got him a cake and everything~ I'm really happy with how it turned out, so I figured I'd share photos here!

Happy birthday, Reia~ )

In other news, I'm looking forward to seeing Reia at Crea in May. ♥
