Well, I'm not sure how this happened, but somehow, I was inspired to write fic for Samurai Mode. The nostalgia overtook me, I guess. XD After rewatching the DVD of the 2008 show, I really just have a lot of love for this pairing, so even if it's a blast from the past, I wanted to write a little something. Hopefully it's enjoyable!

author’s note: This is set about a year after the end of the Vol. 15 Samurai Mode saien from 2016 (which is subtly different from the original 2008 version). Most of the backstory in here is just my personal headcanon for the saien, so my apologies if it’s confusing. The title is a play on the kanji that I chose for their names (since *pnish* has never given kanji); in my heart, Shisui is 静水 and Saiga is 才賀 . The saien really just stole my heart, so I wanted to write a little something about one of my favorite *pnish* pairings. ♥
summary: Saiga doesn’t think it’s immaturity that finds him coming back here night after night, and he doesn’t think Shisui would say it was either, which is, perhaps, what makes the current state of affairs so complicated.

( The overgrown path around to the back of the temple, shadowy and moonlit now in the dark of the night, is familiar and welcoming now, Saiga thinks as he lets himself through the side gate. )

Hahahaha. How is this my first fic of the new year? |D;;; A Panic Age fic centered around Nagayan... who isn't even in Panic Age? XD;;;; Well... be that as it may, here's my first fic for the new year, and... hopefully the first of many fics this year, too :D; We'll see if I can outdo my 49 last year with a round 50 this year, at least. XD;

Author's Note: So, this is set in canon timeline for Panic Age, but I have to make some addendums before the fic XD; Since we know nothing about Tuti's and Ichiban's family situation (all we know is that they play tennis in high grass? XD;) fencer_x and I have decided that Tuti and Nagayan live together and raise Tuti's biological son by a surrogate mother, Ichiban, together. That all makes relative sense, but then, to be fair, we threw Nagayan's biological son by a surrogate mother, lovingly named Sakura, into the fray, just to make things fun. XD; So, while this is set in Panic Age canon timeline, be aware that it's... uh, my and fencer_x's interpretation of Panic Age. XD;;;

( The apartment feels empty now, without Tuti around. )

Author's Note: So, this is best read while listening to Aruki Hajimeta Hi, a song from Prince of Tennis. I know that's random and seemingly lame, but the song is really sweet and fitting, and if you don't know Japanese, there's a nice translation here~ The title sounds a lot less lame in Japanese... so, don't take the connotation of the translation completely seriously? XD;; Either way, the song sounded like Haru, and after my beautiful birthday celebration, I wanted to write a little something. This is dedicated to fencer_x, yomimashou, and britkit27~ ♥ I love you guys.
