My apologies that this is almost a month late, but here's my report of the Epcotia tour show I attended in Ecopa Arena in Shizuoka! I was only able to attend the Saturday show for this venue, but since I hate trekking to Ecopa, that wasn't the worst thing in the world. XD; For more information on the venue, please check out my comprehensive venue guide! This will also rely on my first report of the Epcotia tour, for the show I saw in Miyagi on 4/7, so please feel free to check that report for a detailed account of the setlist, costumes, and choreopgraphy. This is just going to be the highlights from the 4/17 show, specifically!

NEWS Arena Tour 2018 Epcotia in Shizuoka Ecopa Arena, 2018.4.14 @ 5 pm )

I'm sorry this are all so behind! I'm at the halfway mark now with reports. XD; I still have to write up my experience in Nagoya on May 12 as well as the afternoon show and all last on May 20. I'm going to do my best though! Sorry again for all the lateness.

After spending the night in Sendai, I headed back to Sekisui Heim Super Arena on April 8th to see the show a second time! My seat this time was in the stands in the back of the venue (the Arena B side), but only row 6, so the view was fairly good, and also opposite of what I'd had the previous day, which I appreciated! While I'll give details of the things that differed from the previous show, this report will rely on information given in my report of the April 7th show, so please read that one first!

NEWS Arena Tour 2018 Epcotia in Sendai Sekisui Heim Super Arena, 2018.4.7 @ 12 pm )

Sorry this is over a month late! I'm heading to Nagoya this weekend to see the show in Gaishi, but I'll do my best to get my Ecopa report done sometime in the near future, and hopefully I'll be able to finish my reports through the end of the tour in a reasonable amount of time.

Also, I want to take this chance to once again promote my comprehensive venue guide! Feel free to ask me any questions you might have about going to concerts or the venues themselves, but if it's a question about a specific location, it might be helpful to check there first. ^^;

With the announcement of KAT-TUN's concert in Tokyo Dome next April, as well as a long list of already known tours for the beginning of 2018 and the details NEWS's tour presumably forthcoming, I figured now might be a good time to share my knowledge of various commonly used concert venues around Japan. As I've been located in Kanto area for the past 6ish years, I unfortunately haven't been to many venues in the west and south, but I have amassed a somewhat long list of venues in which I've seen concerts, so I figured my experiences might be useful to other people, as well.

So, I decided to write up a short report of each of the venues I've been to, with information that I wished I knew before I went. I hope that this can be of use to other foreign concert-goers and make people's concert experiences easier!

The list is written from north to south, give or take. Each venue is under its own cut, so hopefully the list is easy to navigate, but if you're having trouble with anything, let me know!

In an attempt to avoid letting it join the long list of overdue concert reports that I need to write, here's the report for the first day of NEWS's 2017 Tour, which I saw in Sapporo on Saturday! I had a really good time and tried to capture as much detail as possible here, so I hope it's an enjoyable read!

NEWS Live Tour 2017 'Neverland,' 2017.4.1 @ 5 pm )

All in all, there were some weird parts or parts that I need to see again to really get, but all in all, it was a really great show and I enjoyed it a lot! It's always fun to see the happenings that go on on the first day, too XD; There were particularly a lot of mic issues this time! But at any rate, I'm really looking forward to going again!

Up next in my very late reports, it's the first show of DEAR. I went to in Yokohama in October! I'm really sorry for how late these all are, but I'm trying to catch up. At any rate, here's the report!

DEAR. tour in Yokohama Arena, October 8th 2016 @ 12:30 pm )

As I always say in these things... I'm going to try to keep going and posting these in a timely manner, and as always, I'm sorry for the wait!

I'm sorry for the lateness... again. Things have been extremely crazy in my life, but I'm slowly but surely trying to get all these reports done, even if they're not relevant anymore. T__T;

Again, this will rely heavily on my August 12th report, since I don't feel the need to be really repetitive in describing every song and dance over and over again, so if you want the most detail, please read that report first!

Hey! Say! JUMP in Yokohama Arena, 2016.8.13 @ 12:30 pm )

Sorry again for the lateness! I'm going to do my best to keep getting these reports done, as soon as I can...

Today is Gunma Kenmin no Hi, which means I have no classes and the kids didn't come to school, so I'm trying to stay in my current rhythm and keep from getting too far behind in reports!

All my reports are going to rely heavily on the report of the first show I saw, on August 12th, so that I don't have to list out every song and describe every costume each time. From now on, I'm going to focus on the things that were unique to each show, so if you're curious about the setlist and costumes and things like that, please check back to that report!

Hey! Say! JUMP in Yokohama Arena, 2016.8.13 @ 12:30 pm )

Sorry again for how late this was... but I'll try to keep writing these reports and get them out before it gets to be too late >___> Hopefully it was still an enjoyable read, even though the concert is almost done!

I know this is crazy late, but I'm finally getting around to writing up my reports for the DEAR. tour this summer and fall. I'm really sorry!

This is the report of the first day in August, so if you're interested, please check out below the cut!

Hey! Say! JUMP in Yokohama Arena, 2016.8.12 @ 5 pm )

Our seats weren't ideal for that show, but it was still a really good performance! All in all, while DEAR. is really different than JUMPing CARnival was, I really liked it a lot, and I'm looking forward to writing up the other shows, too!

Trying to keep the ball rolling with the really late reports! I'm going to be traveling from Saturday to Monday, and then heading back to Japan early Tuesday morning, but at least I was able to finish up the JUMPing CARnival in Yokohama Arena reports. As in previous entries, this is mostly just specific details from that day, so for more information about the concert, check out the previous reports from Nagoya here and here, as well as the first and second shows I saw in Yokohama here and here.

JUMPing CARnival in Yokohama Arena, 2015.10.12 @ 12:30 pm )

Whew, I'm glad I was able to get these reports done. I know I still have a few left before I'm totally up to date, but I'm working on it. XD;; Tomorrow and the next day I'll probably be a little busy, so I'm sorry if I go MIA! But for now, I hope these reports are at least enjoyable, even though they're late. XD;

I'm trying to keep getting out all these reports I haven't done yet, so up next, we have the Sunday afternoon show of JUMPing CARnival in Yokohama! This is mostly just specific details from that day, so for more information about the concert, check out the previous reports from Nagoya here and here, as well as the first show I saw in Yokohama here.

I think this is the latest I've ever posted a report, but coming in at 10 months late, here's the report for the first of three shows of JUMPing CARnival that I saw in Yokohama Arena. I'm sure that pretty much no one cares anymore considering that the DVD has already come out, but I wanted to both share the little things that didn't get onto the DVD and write this for posterity and just for my own memory, so here it is.

I don't go into that much detail since a lot of things were really similar to the show I reported about in Nagoya, so if you want to refer back to those reports, they're here and here!

And with no further ado, onto the report!

Finally, I'm getting around to writing my report from NEWS's Quartetto concert in Tokyo Dome. Better late than never? I'm sorry I'm awful about doing these things on time T__T;

At any rate, I really enjoyed this concert tour, but I had some hesitations about seeing it in Tokyo Dome. I've had very few really good experiences in Tokyo Dome; because it's so huge and hard to see something from any view and anything from some views, I feel like the best view I've ever had there is mediocre. From the arena, you can sort of see the closest stage and catwalk area but nothing else; from the lower stands you can what what's close to you okay but everything else is a tiny speck and you can't even tell who is who from how small their faces seem. From the front few rows of the fourth floor, you can see sort of a good overview but it's hard to get super into it because you're so removed; from the back of the fourth floor stands, you can see an even tinier view of the whole show, but you're so far back that the sound takes too long to travel to your ears and everything is slightly off. And don't even get me started on the lower stand outfield seats-- Gate 25 stands are the absolute worst. You're behind the main stage, so the "best" view that you have is of their backs, and the biggest screen, the one behind the main stage, is at an angle such that you can't really watch it, so there's not a good screen, either.

Based on my past experiences with all of these views of Tokyo Dome, and after having an amazing time in the tiny Nagoya venue where, even in our seats pretty far away from the stage, we were able to see them up close, I was trepidatious about how the show would be in Tokyo Dome. But luckily, it was much, much better than I had expected!

NEWS Quartetto Tour, Tokyo Dome, June 11th @ 6 pm )

Whew. I'm glad I finally got that done! It was a really great show, so I want to share it with everyone. ♥

On May 7th, I went down to Nagoya to see NEWS in Nippon Gaishi Hall! Unfortunately, I had a fever that day, which really sucked, but I was still able to enjoy the show! I'm going again in June, but before that, I wanted to share my experience from May, so I've written up a little report here!

NEWS Quartetto Tour in Nippon Gaishi Hall, 2016.5.7 @ 5 pm )

The show was seriously amazing. *___* I can't wait to see it again in Tokyo!

Taking a break in posting about my personal life to post about my experience seeing KAT-TUN's 10th anniversary concert in Tokyo Dome last month! This is definitely not going to be a real report, because I don't know enough about KAT-TUN and their history to write effectively about what happened, and there are a lot of Hyphens out there who have written real reports, but I'm going to put my feelings and photos here.

KAT-TUN 10KS in Tokyo Dome, 2016.4.30 )

All in all, the concert was really great, and I really hope I have a chance to go to another KAT-TUN concert in the future. I'm rooting for you, KAT-TUN!!

I'm back from Tokyo for the weekend, and despite the fact that I'm way behind on the reports that I really want to write, I felt like the best way to get through the list was to get this report done literally as soon as possible, so without further ado, here is my report of Sexy Zone's "Welcome to Sexy Zone" tour in Yoyogi Taikukan!

As usual, and especially because I don't really follow Sexy Zone very closely anymore and I wasn't that engaged by most of the setlist other than appreciating how talented the guys are, rather than a full detailed report with the whole setlist, this is just a report of the bits that particularly caught my attention.

'Welcome to Sexy Zone' Tour in Yoyogi Taikukan, 2016.4.24 )

All in all, I had a pretty good time, and I'm glad that I went! Even though I don't really follow Sexy Zone very strongly now, they're all so talented and they've grown up so much and they work so hard, so I'm glad I got to be able to see the fruit of their efforts.

Next up in the list of Stupidly Late Reports is Gamushara Summer Station. I attended the show on August 7th (so yes, this is two months late, I'm so sorry), which was a Sha vs. Ra show, because of course, I wanted to see Reia and Jinguji together ♥ It's sad that they weren't on the same team this year ;__; But I also really wanted to see the team with the most members of SixTONES, too, which happened to be Reia's team, so it all worked out well~ Of course, I was dressed in blue rooting for Team Sha! But really, both teams did very well!

This isn't going to be a complete and total report because you can easily find a setlist on twitter, and things that were important to some people probably didn't stand out to me, and vice versa. I'm just going to try to write about the things that I enjoyed. If you're interested, please check under the cut!

Gamushara! Summer Station, August 7th, 2015 @ 5 pm )

Whew! Only one more report left… that I'm definitely not getting done before JUMPing CARnival in Yokohama, OTL. Oh well… at least I won't be more behind than before… T___T;;

It's been approximately 589302 years (or, more accurately, a little more than 2 months) since I saw Arashi no Waku Waku Gakkou, but since I traveled to America right afterwards, and then got really busy, I didn't get around to working on a report until now… I'm sorry T___T; I've seen a few reports around, but none of them for this particular show, so I figured it was still worthwhile to write one. I'm going to focus on JUMP because… I was focusing on JUMP at the time XD but of course, Arashi is involved, too. In fact, it was really great seeing the amount of inter-group interaction there was, so it's definitely not that I'm going to leave Arashi out in this report.

Arashi no Waku Waku Gakkou, 2015.6.28 )

I'm sorry again that this is so late! But hopefully it's still amusing even now, two and a half months later. T___T; I'm going to try to catch up on things from now on!
faded_lace: (Inoo: Pretty princess ♥)
This is the second installment in my Nagoya JUMPing CARnival experience, and to avoid redundancy, I'm not going to rehash the things that were the same as the concert on the night of the 18th. If you're interested in a more full and fleshed out account of the concert, please check out this report, which is the one for the 18th.

With no further ado, on to the report!

JUMPing CARnival August 19th, 2015 )

And that's all! The show was so much fun, I'm really looking forward to seeing it in Yokohama in October!
faded_lace: (Yabu&Takaki: you & me)
On August 18th I got up ass early to head into Nagoya for the two days of the JUMP concert! Nagoya is pretty far from where I live (or rather… because I live in the middle of nowhere, I have to take a really indirect route because my train options are limited) so it took me more than four hours to get there, but it was so worth it!

JUMPing CARnival August 18th, 2015 )

It was a really fun concert, even if the guys were clearly really tired from all their 24 Hour TV promotions. I'm glad that I got to see it twice! I'll try to get my report from the 19th up soon!

I finally finished!! As you might know, I was lucky enough to be able to see Karafuto Ojisan four times in total, and I've finally managed to finish my writeup. This is an ~5000 word plot summary of the play. It's not 100% of the details, but I tried not to miss anything important, hence the length! I hope that it at least gives an idea about the play, since sadly, there won't be a DVD. T__T;

Just a warning; this play deals with someone suffering what is almost definitely PTSD after living through a natural disaster, and also has themes of poor parenting and family issues. Read with discretion!

「本当の幸いはどこですか?」 )

Whew! That took a lot to write, ahaha. I cried again just writing it and remembering the sad parts… I think I'm going to hear Ino-chan sobbing 「もうええ、速く逃げろ」in my dreams for the rest of my life… But even despite how sad it was, I really wish I could see it again! T__T That's how good it was. At any rate, otsukare, Ino-chan!
