House fluff!
Dec. 31st, 2006 01:53 amSo, this is my first House fic. :D; it's House/Wilson, of course. I hope it's all right. ^^;
Title: Looking up
Disclaimer: House MD is not mine.
Rating: PGish
Warnings: Yaoi, first-season spoilers
Author's Note: This episode was so sweet. :DD Oh, Wilson. I love them.
It was fairly late before Chase and Foreman finally left the hospital; only once they had finised the bottle of champagne, felt a little guilty, and agreed that, yes, House was a jerk, no, he wasn't going to change, and yes, they did owe Cuddy for giving up 100 million dollars to save their jobs. But, when the chatter and the alcohol ran out, they both excused themselves, bidding farewell until the next morning.
Wilson lingered behind, savoring the time alone with House when he wasn't being used or berated or insulted. He scolded House for his Vicodin, but it was hypocritical, really. It was almost as though he was addicted to House; no matter how the other abused him, he still would, wanted to, do everything, even sacrifise his own job, to help him. Still, House was the only real constant in his life, and he wished, more than anything, that the other doctor would recognize him in some way. It didn't have to be big; Wilson was used to being unappreciated, but even something small, a few kind words, a reassuring hand on the shoulder, anything.
Ah, but enough daydreaming. What was it, 1:23 in the morning already? They'd been sitting around the office for too long, it was time to go home. He sighed as he stood and set his glass aside. Home was nothing to look forward to, and neither was work tomorrow. House was certainly going to get himself into more trouble, with Cuddy predisposed to be angry at him. But such was life; it was rarely anything to write home about.
He was on his way out the door when he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, Wilson."
He turned, confused. "House?"
House looked perplexed, confused on what he was going to say. "Um..." he gestured vaguely, "Look, Wilson..."
Wilson raised his eyebrows, waiting for whatever House was going to say. He was probably going to ask to borrow money, or a favour. What else could House be thinking?
"You know," House started awkwardly, "If..If I could go back and do it again, I'd do it differently."
Wilson stared, speechless. "...House?"
"I'd do it over for you," House repeated. Then, with a slight hesitation, he pressed a quick kiss to Wilson's cheek before walking briskly out of the office.
Wilson stared for a good five minutes even after House was out of sight before smiling to himself. So he got abused and berated all the time. What was the big deal? Maybe it wasn't fair, but, he decided, he'd give up his job all over again. Maybe things might begin to look up, after all.

Also, I wish I'd seen the episode, because then I would have actually understood the context... ;;

Yeah...sorry about that. Um...Basically, House does something idiotic and Wilson stands up for him, so Wilson loses his job. Then Cuddy fixes it at the end. ^^;
