There's been a cat outside my apartment building in the bike park every day since I got home from America, and I've been taking pictures of it because it's super cute. But today, when I bent down to take a photo… the cat came over to me and started nuzzling against my hands and legs, and generally being super affectionate. It was adorable! When I pet it, though, I could feel all it ribs, so I ended up getting a can of mackerel that my sister bought by accident for me back in 2013 and putting a little bit of it in a dish and bringing it out. The cat ate all of it and seemed really happy and wanted to cuddle some more, so it seems like the food made it happy ;___; I love cats, and it seems like this one has just been abandoned… I'm not allowed to have pets in my apartment, but that makes me so sad T__T;;

In other new, today was super busy and stressful, but hopefully tomorrow I'll have some more free time to work on stuff!

That sounds adorable, but also super sad :(( Let's hope the cat finds a nice place for itself!!

I understand how you feel, when I was a kid we could never keep a pet because I was allergic to just about everything. Nowadays it's better and we do have a cat, and the thought of not having a pet anymore makes me kind of sad.

I actually found out my landlord takes care of all the stray cats around my apartment, so I'm less worried now!

There are some places you can contact for advice or even a shelter for the cat, if you think it might need help.

1. The Japan Cat Network.

They have 2 shelters but I think they mainly offer advice, so they could be quite helpful: https://japancatnetwork.org/

2. There's the no-kill shelter 'Hearth Tokushima'

http://www.heart-tokushima.com/WELCOME/Welcome.html

Not remotely convenient (!) but they might know of closer places.

3. In 2009, there was a no-kill shelter in Kamakura. But I don't know any more about it!

Thanks for all this! Actually, it turns out my landlord looks after all the stray cats around my building and feeds them, gives them places to stay when it's cold or raining, and even takes them to the vet, so I think she's okay for now. But if I'm worried, I'll definitely check out the Japan Cat Network site!
