exciting news and things

It's the time of year that new dramas and TV shows are being announced~ Since spring is the beginning of the school year, a lot of TV shows have renewals, new shows are started, and more interesting dramas happen. While there's still no word on the presumably delinquent themed new NTV 1 am drama, there are a few bits of exciting news...

New drama for Inoo! Apparently this is what his blonde hair was for. I'm sad it didn't last longer but really thrilled he got a new drama!! You go, Inoo~

Yuto will be appearing in Nino's drama for next season! It seems like an interesting concept, though I probably won't watch because I hate starting things and getting disappointed. XD;

New drama for Yabu! Apparently it's a... science police drama? No clue, but I like police dramas :Dv

It seems like more members of JUMP are able to get bit parts and maybe slightly larger side parts these days? For Chinen to have a second-to-lead role and Hikaru to have a lead role within a year is pretty great, and Yuto has been getting pretty regular side parts. And for Inoo to get so many side parts is awesome! I'm so happy that now that he's out of college, he's getting to do things that he enjoys.

And most exciting...

Sexy Zone is getting their own variety show!! It will be a variety show on "Fuji Two"... which isn't a real channel, but I'm not sure if it's cable or what. I get some variety of both satellite and terrestrial channels but I don't pay for any cable, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch it or not. At any rate, there's not much information available, but it seems to be about Sexy Zone trying a variety of new things. It sounds sort of like D no Arashi to me, which would be AMAZING, because I love D no Arashi, and I've been hoping Sexy Zone would have something like it. But at any rate, I'm really happy for them getting something like this so early on in their time as a group! I'm cheering for them~

...I'm way less stoked about the new Shounen Club MCs, but no one needs to hear me bitch about that, so, YES. Many good things for the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year!!

My goodness! All the HSJ drama roles! and none of them Yamada how refreshing ehem. :DD That's exciting! Maybe we'll get Yuto guesting on VSA when Nino's drama team inevitably competes...

And yay for Sexy Zone getting their first variety show! XD not a real channel, meh, everyone has to start somewhere. I literally only get local channels though so I'm afraid I can't help any on the watching front |D But that's exciting for them :DD

For you information, Fuiji Two is a cable channel and you have to subscribe it to watch. Itazunara na Kiss 2013 was also aired on this channel so I'm quite familiar with this channel.

Excited for Yabu's science police drama! And it's on at a reasonable hour to watch, even |D I'm so happy that JUMP are getting more roles~ Inoo having two dramas in a row is awesome!

And maybe we'll have to make a regular Sexy Zone viewing time once they start getting uploaded... If it is like D, we'll be witnessing history XD

No problem! Sorry I didn't go into more detail; I was at work when I posted this. XD; But Yuto's drama is about a new teacher (Nino) who comes to a school and tries to help a weak baseball team. It's unclear as of now who Yuto will play. ^^

I have hopes for Nino's drama at least. Choco!Jun, and I LOVE Jun, makes me angry beyond words and I stopped watching it. So at least Yuto ha a chance at something less sucky.

I love Jun too, but I knew that his chocolate drama would piss me off so I didn't even try. I hate romance dramas and I hate sexism, so there was no way I was going to like it. |D; Granted, that means I can't watch the majority of Jun's dramas, but... this one, from what I hear from pretty much everyone, takes the cake. XD;

But yes! Nino and Yuto's sounds like it could be good! I have hopes.

My problem was i knew nothing about the drama before i started watching other than there was a metric ton of unrequited love. I regret this choice. Since when at episode 5 there is still not really a redeemable character, since the only reason Shige and Sato Ryuta are at all ok is that they each had no more than 5 min screen time in the drama.

But then again i am in the anti-Hanadan club.

There needs to be more Shuntaro!Jun in the world.

I also dislike most his drama roles. And it makes me sad.

But Nino, my hope is in him. And though I know he is more than old enough to play a teacher, still weird.

Anti-Hanadan club! Let's be friends. It seriously makes me cringe every time someone says that they started liking Arashi through Hanadan. It's not that I think liking Hanadan makes someone a bad person or something, but I sort of view it like Twilight... there are a lot of people who don't think that Bella and Edward's relationship is a healthy model and acknowledge that it's problematic and still enjoy it, just like there are people who acknowledge that Doumyouji is pretty awful and still enjoy Hanadan... but those people generally don't make up a huge percentage of the fans. >__<

But yes! I have hopes. Even though Nino will be a tiny cute teacher. XD But if Fujigaya is old enough, Nino definitely is. XD

Nino is old enough. Though I kinda want to see him like Tsuka-chan's teacher persons. But being all about the heart would also be amusing. Nino, I love most his works, so I am not worried at all about his drama. I am just sad for Jun-pon. Though even he admits Shige's chacacter is the most intriguing to him, if one can trust j-web.


We seriously should be friends. One of these tokyo trips, when you arent on a crazy tight schedule, we should meet?

Hahahaha omg I would pay to see that. Sannen C-kumi Nino-sensei!! XD; Nino is a good actor but his dramas really vary for me. Like, his performance is good, but I couldn't stand Yamada Tarou or Ryusei no Kizuna. XD; For me, it's more about the writing than the guy who's in it, since I loved The Quiz Show even though Sho is a worse actor than Nino. XD;

Yes! Let's! I'm excited to find someone who shares my opinion on Hanadan. |D;;; Usually, I have one crazy day and one tentatively free day, though that day is often running around doing "errands" like the Johnny's Shop that I can only do in Tokyo. But I may be coming in sometime in the nearish future with no show in mind since I don't have any plans until the Sexy Zone tour in May in terms of concerts (trying for Gamushara J's Party on the 26th of March, but that's a Wednesday so it'd be a day trip anyway XD). So I'll keep you posted and we should definitely grab lunch or do karaoke or something!

SO EXCITED FOR NINO'S DRAMA as you can imagine, and I love Yuto's face and I'm so happy that I have an excuse to see his face all the time for three months. :D His character is apparently "the only one on the team with actual baseball skill who's aiming to be a pro" so he should have lots of ~kakkoii~ scenes as well.

I'm kind of treating next season as a sorbet of sorts after what have been overly dramatic, disappointing, weird, or downright enraging Johnny's dramas this season.

Ahahaha I really hope that it has a cleansing effect. Hearing basically everyone come back screaming and tearing their hair out after Jun's drama has been almost amusing to me, after listening to many people try to convince me that Hanadan is ~amazing and that Doumyouji is ~the nicest person ever, just ~misunderstood. But it doesn't change the fact that just about everything I've heard about that drama is incredibly upsetting. >__<;;

Yeah, it's kind of hilarious in a sad and frustrating way how ChocoJun is actually worse in some ways than HanaDan because it's all Nice Guy (though of course that doesn't change how frustrating it is that people romanticize the Domyouji/Makino relationship). Who knew Jun could top HanaDan?? Though I'd been steeling myself for a while because a friend was reading the manga in advance and apparently got so angry she threw it across the room. XD It's a shame that the production values for the drama are pretty good and it has such a dynamic cast, because it's all wasted on this trash monster of a story that only gets worse and worse. :'D :'D :'D

Anyway, yes. Nino's drama seems to be a straight school drama with some Team!! thrown in, so hopefully it's benign enough to be enjoyable for you! :D

Yeah, it's like... Jun is going to fulfill all the awful romance tropes before he's too old to be the male lead in romance dramas?? I'd be interested to see Jun's reaction to people talking to him about the character, because on VIP room, he always seemed so ridiculously uncomfortable whenever the women would fawn over Doumyouji. And yeah, yomimashou researched the manga before it started airing, as well, and I think her comment was something like "it seems pretty awful... like, there's no redeeming thing about any of the characters or the story" or something. XD; But yeah. UGH. World, y u gotta b dat wei.

That sounds right up my alley!! I hope it pans out :D

Ooh, I like police dramas too and I'll be watching Nino's drama, so that's two of these dramas I'll likely be checking out. ^^ When it comes to dramas, I've generally gotten the sense that my tastes are really different from a lot of other Johnny's fans, so it's always nice to find people who like (and dislike) some of the same genres as I do.

I'm really cynical about dramas and will probably wait to hear what people think of them before starting on the 2nd or 3rd episode, but yes! I also feel exactly the same way, and am really happy to hear that other people agree, too. XD; I understand that romance dramas are really popular and sell well, but it's really frustrating to basically never be able to watch the guys I like because they're always in some new, really misogynistic romance drama. SIGH.

Yeah, waiting a couple episodes isn't a bad plan. I know I've watched dramas that had a interesting concept or did something really promising in the first episode but never went anywhere with it. Whenever I see someone say something like "I wish so-and-so would get a role in a romance drama", first I just think "WHY WOULD YOU WISH FOR THAT?" and then I get sad thinking about how different my tastes are from other fans. ^^; And sometimes romance dramas are extra disappointing when they have a really interesting set-up and then ruin all their potential by making EVERYTHING about romance. T_T

Yeah, exactly. I'm easily riled up/annoyed/upset by stupid TV, so I prefer to just wait. XD;; But yeah, I seriously feel just the same way, and I also get sad that I just don't enjoy the things that most other people do. And UGH I know we discussed this before, but yes! I don't mind having romance as an underlying theme, but when every single breath every character takes has to be about romance, it's seriously just... the worst for me. XD;
