Myojo Junior Ranking is out! And the winner of 恋人にしたい is... Iwahashi Genki!!! That's right, for the first time in years, I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the result of "Junior you want as your boyfriend." I yelled in shock when I first ripped open the little packet thing, because I was so sure it was going to be Hokuto. But in a shocking display of good judgement (nothing against Hokuto, but judging on their personalities, I'd rather date Genki, if we're just going on the criteria of ideal boyfriend material XD) Genki was the winner! Of course, the poor kid's response was "What?? Seriously?? I'm so happy! And... I feel so much pressure... Because I really wouldn't be a good boyfriend..." ;___; That kid seriously needs someone to tell him how awesome he is, poor baby. I over-identify with him way too much. And then there was awkwardly a Travis Japan crosstalk with some of them saying "I can't believe that guy won, even though there were so many better options"... talk about awkward >__> Especially when Miyachika is really close with Genki. Mostly, I'm amazed that Myojo printed it, to be honest.

BUT! I'm going to get my negative impressions out of the way before I get on to the positives! There weren't so many negatives, so I'm going to try not to dwell on them! But...
✘ It was really Kansai heavy. I expected former 7West and BAD to win the normal amount, but I was shocked by the prevalence of Hirano Sho, Nagase Ren, Onishi Ryusei, and Nishihata Daigo, in particular.
✘ The huge push on the younger ones (2015 material; Sexy Boyz etc) has completely pushed the older ones (Bakaleya guys, Yasui/Hagiya/Morita/etc) out of the limelight. The pool of juniors who won things hasn't grown that much, but a lot of established juniors were ousted. While I'm happy to see new faces getting some attention, I'm sort of bothered how Johnny's just has been completely ignoring the older guys recently, and I think it's reflected here.
✘ I don't think the Myojo staff was expecting Hokuto to win, and so as well as a two page spread for Genki, they also had a two page spread for Hokuto, which felt like a big waste of space when in the end, the Junior-on-Junior rankings were really cramped and we didn't get to see who voted for who. That's a big part of the Junior-on-Junior rankings for me, so I was really upset to see it not there.

But enough about the bad, let's talk about the good!! And there was a surprising amount of good!
✔ REIA PLACED IN KOIBITO NI SHITAI!!! He was 9th, just below Shigeoka Daiki (who dropped a whopping 6 places from last year)!! I'm so happy for my baby ♥
✔ Yugo won two categories! Like always, he won the "sixth sense" category, but he also won "seems like he'll be a good grandfather"! So adorable~
✔ Jinguji moved down in "want as your boyfriend" XDDD He and Kishi flipflopped, so now Kishi is 4 and Jinguji is 5. I find this to be hilarious.
✔ Reia won one category! "Junior who seems like he likes to keep things clean." I voted for him, so my vote counted!
✔ Kishi and Fu placed in both "best pair" and "pair who look alike" ♥
✔ Reia also placed in "looks good in girls' clothes," "looks good in Japanese clothes," "likes playing jokes on people," "sixth sense," "weak in a fight," and possibly others that I can't find right now!
✔ Yugo placed in "seems like he'll be a good dad," and "seems like he won't return mails," and maybe others that I can't find right now!
✔ Juniors voted Taiga best in Japanese clothes and girls' clothes XD
✔ Juniors voted Yugo best dad.
✔ Juniors and readers voted Jinguji most narcissistic XD;;; Accurate.
✔ There were a couple of random painfully cute photos of Miyachika and Genki being lovey-dovey together. ♥ One of Genki kissing Miyachika on the cheek and one of Genki watching Miyachika fill out the Junior ranking paper. It's seriously adorable.

I'm sure there're more that I'm forgetting, and there are definitely a lot more results that I think are cute or accurate, but that's what I can think of for now! If you're curious as to who won what and can't find a scan or anything, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help out. There are way too many categories for me to write who won and placed for each, plus who won and placed in the junior-on-junior ranking, but I want to help out if I can!

Also, man has Marius gotten freaking tall. He's taller than Kento on the cover, and while I'm sure they're standing on something, he's definitely getting there. @___@;

Marius is officially the same height as Kento!!! :O So now, in pictures, it's just based of of angles that one looks taller than the other, but they are the same height rn. That kid!!!!!!

Oh my God... I'm so happy 'cause Genki won that category. well... just like reia and kaoru said in JJL "genki is kind person" :D and I am agree with them too hehe >w< even Genki doesn't know how awesome he is but with his personality I think he will be a good boyfriend <3 <3 yeay... GENKI!!!!!
well... I agree Jinguji is most narcissistic :P hehe but I really love his fashion, he is so cool and I think he just needs to reach age 18 years old to be completely sexy >w< hehehe...

I agree with with you ! He completely put aside the older juniors this year it's such a disppointment, I won't be surprised if some of them leave the agency for the years to come. Because when are they going to debut ? When they'll turn 30 or even 40 years old ? The new ones are young they got all their time no need to rush.

Anyway I'm really happy for Kochi, finally he won in a lot of category and i agree with theses. :)

I mean, I don't completely agree with you, because all of the Bakaleya guys right now are too young to debut with non-volleyball. If you look at the past non-volleyball debuts, ABC-Z, KisuMai, KAT-TUN, and Kanjani8 all had an average age over 20 and in most of those, in fact, all members were over 20 at the time of debut. Since Shintaro is only 16 now, I think that the Bakaleya guys have a while before they'll be able to debut.

But while I do think they have time, I'm saddened that Johnny seems to have forgotten about them. I know he's preparing for the 2015 volleyball debut, but he can't ignore everyone else in the meanwhile. ;__;
