Because I spend a lot of my free time at work sitting around doing nothing, I decided I needed to engage myself in some sort of project or else my brain was going to start rotting and coming out my ears. I've had a whack at translation before, two years ago, when my Japanese was not nearly as good as it is now, and needless to say, I struggled a lot. That put me off translation for a while, but since I wanted something to do (that wasn't me staring at a fic wishing it would write itself) I decided to have another go. This time, I think it actually came out fairly well, and so, if it turns out that I have the time in the future, maybe I'll try to do more. No promises, but hopefully!

yomimashou and I noticed that the last segment of Fuma's bit of the Sexy Zone article was particularly interesting, and so I decided to translate the whole thing. There are naturally probably a few mistakes, as I am far from a native speaker of Japanese, so I apologize for that in advance, but I did my best with it ^^; Enjoy?
Winkup October 2012: Kikuchi Fuma
【What's your aspired occupation cosplay?】 My aspiration from the time I was in elementary school is a sentai or rider! In that case, lots of little kids would come see me (laugh). Because I really love little kids. The way to win over little kids who don't listen to what you say is to turn the situation into any sort of game. When you say, "Who can be the first to clean up game! Kids who put away big things, plus five points!" the kids will do it wholeheartedly to the point that you wouldn't believe it! (laugh)
【Out of the 5 members, who will get married the earliest?】 Everyone probably said me, but… yeah, I think so too (laugh). If there was a person I really liked, I would start to want to marry them, I think. That partner might possibly even be you reading this article! (laugh) But speaking seriously, when I really start to like someone, it's impossible if I don't know both the person's good and bad points. Therefore, until we reach that point, I'm the sort of person who will take his time, I think.
【Out of the 5 members, who has a gap between their outward appearance and personality?】 This might also be me. People have a tendency to think of me as cheeky or brazen. But because I'm the type of person who believes "It's good understand the people you know," there's no way I could go around denying it. To people who need to express themsevles and people to whom I'm important, it's best if anything important is expressed. …Ah, here, insert my "Best triumphant face" please. (laugh)
【If you were going to make a production with Marius…?】 That guy is serious, so if I made him do something already decided, it would be no good. For example, "Marius's consultation for troubles" would be good, wouldn't it? Marius would answer in short sentences. For a question like "How should I do my best at studying for a test?" Marius would give an answer like "Hm, wouldn't it be good if you sucked on candy?" and would give answers with a certain punch, I think. (laugh)
【One thing about your present state】 Recently, my thinking in terms of work has completely changed. I guess you could say, at last, I've grown accustomed to Sexy Zone (laugh). From now on, even more than up until now, I have the resolution to take Sexy Zone straight on until the end and make it a huge group. There were a lot of times when I felt like, because Sexy Zone gave me the feeling of "a group of small kids," I didn't know how I could possibly be true to myself in such a group, or when I felt perplexed, weren't there? But now, rather than being perplexed, I should use my experience and take the lead… that's what I've come to think. Because I think a guy who doesn't give all he has to give can never make it big. Kikuchi Fuma has been reborn!
