Otakon Report!

faded_laceYaaaay! I have the pictures from Otakon, so I shall now post the feature presentation:
Journey to the Inner Harbour: OTaKon CHRoNiCLE!
So, our journey started out at home, from where we drove to Maryland. Along the way we stopped at Wawa (a convineince store like 7eleven for those of you out west), where people stared at us like we had 3 heads. But after that, we reached the Baltimore Convention Centre! Yaaaay!
As soon as we stepped out of the car, we got a picture taken of us! We were dressed as the Sanzo-ikkou from Gensoumaden Saiyuki/Saiyuki Reload. Ami-chan was Sanzo, G-chan was Goku, S-chan was Gojyo, and I was Hakkai. We were flattered! Picutre number one!
Inside, we got out badges. I got the Saiyuki Reload Gunlock one! Heeee! I would scan it, but I'm too lazy. ;; G-chan and Ami-chan got the Moon Phase one.
Next, we sat down to check out our schedule. Saiyuki Reload Gunlock was showing at 12:30, so we had plenty of time to wander! We decided to head down to the dealer's room first thing. On the way to the dealer's room, however, we got stopped to take another picture! Picture number two~! And one of the people offered to take one with our camera, too, so we got one for ourselves. :D
Finally, after waiting in the long line, we made it down to the dealer's room. We headed to start in the back, as always. I got a black Mokona Modoki (xxxHOLiC) plush first off, to go with my white Mokona. We meandered some more, Ami-chan bought a set of Hagaren mascots and I got some cell charms for Hiei-chan. S-chan also managed to buy some 58 doujinshi that is a bit pr0nny but wasn't IDed! XD While down there, we saw the cutest Chiyo-chan! She must have actually been 10!
There was also a Nina! Awwwww! T^T Poor Nina.
And we also met an Envy with a Wrath! Envy is like "I'm da shit!" and Wrath is all "He molested me. T^T"
We then went back upstairs to rest and stalk people who we wanted pictures of. S-chan managed to get a picture of the amazing Al without breaking the camera!! Yaaay!
Then up another floor to take stalkery photos of people in the 1st floor atrium. We noticed that there were a lot of Eds and military personnel there, so we took a picture.
We also saw some celebrities: Tokyo's own Mew Mews! We took some pictures as they walked by.
After that, it was time for Gunlock! We were given a warm welcome, since it was us on the screen! It was very cracky, as Reload tends to be, but fun nonetheless. There were a lot of funny moments, like when Dokugakuji was all "I love Kougaiji...but he doesn't love me...T^T" with a sparkly light green background...xD It was hilarious. I need to see more Gunlock...
After that, it was back to the Dealer's room because Ami-chan is a big fan of free giveaways and Tokyopop and some other places were giveing away stuff. We got some posters and things. Then we realized that the *real* Elric brothers had come to the con, too! THey were busy, but we got a couple of pictures!
While I was off buying a Fye cell charm and a 58 and 39 doujinshi, Ami went off to take some pictures. Some of them didn't come out, but we got the pokcy samurai!
Back upstairs, we realized all of NG studios' celebrities had posed for a picture! I'm a huge Nittle Grasper fan, so we got a picture!
After that, it was time for the art galleries! Along the way, we came across Albel the Wicked! I was frightened, but Ami-chan walked right up and asked for a picture! He called us maggots, but let us photograph him, anyway. xD
We made it to the Otterbein lobby before we met with Ryuichi Sakuma and Shuichi Shindou! And they glomped me! I had gotten a few hugs earlier (everyone loves Hakkai) but they nearly tackled me off my feet! We got some picutres of them, though one of them is rather compromising...let's hope them tabloids don't get it! xD
We made it to the art gallery and saw lots of pretty pictures. There was a really nice RoyEd. T^T; I wish I could buy! There was lots of Tsubasa, too. And tons of Naruto. Nothing struck me too much, though, except this one picture of Ed and Al, which was really nostalgic. It was so nice!
When we made it back to Otterbein, we ran face to face with the Mew Mews! They were dancing to the music, but we got a real picture!
We were also stopped by Hughes on the way back--but only to show us his pictures of Elycia! Nevertheless, we got some pictures of him, too!
After that, it was time to watch Yami no Matsuei! We watched an episode, then headed to find theatre one for Conqueror of Shambala. Unfortunately, we got lost and didn't make it before the line was far too long. So we decided we would see it in theatres and headed back downstairs to watch Ueki no Housoku--which had horrible subs! Yuck! The fansubs were so much better!
After that, we sat down to bum around until we got picked up. Greed tried to attack us, but the flash of the camera scared him away. xD;
We also saw a Dark Magician Girl. We don't know how she got there, since there was no Kaibacorp equipment to be seen and no projectors for a hologram, but we took a picutre!
Then Greed returned with more Homunculi, but we managed to just take their picture and not get killed. :D
Then we went back to the hotel. 66 people had taken out picture, and some of them had taken multiple of us! We also got a whole bunch of "Wow, it's the whole Sanzo party!' (one guy was like "Sanzo, party of four, your table is ready!" xDDD) And I got glomped or hugged 11 times! Go me!! We went back to the hotel, had a photoshoot, then went to bed.
The next morning, we got up bright and early to head to the convention centre. I was dressed as Winry Rockbell and Ami was Barry the Chopper from Hagaren. G-chan wore a paper bag with Al's face on it. xDDD Coz she's lame. S-chan didn't cosplay.
When we got there, we saw a Momiji first thing. He was more than happy to pose for us. :D
We then went down to the dealer's room so that someone could buy something (I don't remember...xD;;) but when we were down there, we met a really nice Ed! He even had a tattered suitcase! He displed his automail for us.
Then I realized his automail was broken. Winry!me was a little angry. xD
At one of the shops we saw a really nice Plum, and later on, a cute chained!Goku. They also posed for us. :D
We also saw a Roy and Riza set meandering. Their uniforms were different colours, but they were good nonetheless!
We then realized we had gotten a Royai and a EdWin picture, and we were depressed. T^T Oh well. XD
And there was THE CUTEST little Kiki! She must have been 8 or 9! Awwwwwww!
And, look, she's friends with Naruto!
Back upstairs, we came across Kakashi reading something naughty. We took a picutre for giggles.
Incidentally, S-chan and I got in the picture and becamse zombies somehow. *shrug*
Then, it was back up to the third floor for more stalkerage. We got a cactus. XD
We also got some nice ones of a Shuichi. We're not stalkers at all.
And then we watched xxxHOLiC. It was crazy, because in episodes 1 and 4, there was original fonts and translations and karaoke for the themes. For episodes 2 and 3, it was ripped right from Sinsen Subs (it even gave them credit!!!!!!). The Shinsen one was better. And in the end, the subbers said it said "Babe, it's you" in English, but Shinsen says it's "Play with you." I believe Shinsen. xD;
And thus ended our Otakon 2006. It was sad to go, but we're already planning for next year! I'll update next with our photoshoots (we did a Hagaren one when we got back to my house), but here is the actually trip pictures! :D
[EDIT] Oh, and we saw another Sanzo-ikkou, but they didn't have a Hakkai. The other Gojyo winked at me...he was sexy. XD Hakkai!me was like "squeeeee~" After all, he must have been lonely without his own Hakkai...
