HYOUTEI BABIES

faded_laceI JUST WATCHED HYOUTEI BABIES.
OMFG BABIES.
They were so fucking cute *_______*
That aside, it definitely lived up to all I wanted it to be. The only thing it lacked was any pairings like, whatsoever (in fact, if I had only watched that, I would have shipped Atobe/Oshitari and Shishido/Gakuto and Piyo/Choutarou or Piyo → Atobe) but, for some reason, it didn't bother me. Like, it would have been nice for Gakkun and Yuushi to like, talk to one another, but then again, it was the first time they ever met, and it was under hella weird circumstances. So I think it's okay. They're also twelve.
That being said.
OMFG BABY GAKKUN WHY SO FUCKING CUTE? I was THRILLED that Gakuto was one of the main focuses of this, and his and Shishido's bffl dynamic was ADORABLE. Like... I always felt like Gakuto and Shishido were friends, even if they bickered, but oh god it's so cute. I wonder why they bicker more now than they did then? But then again, you don't see a lot of them now, maybe they only yell at one another when they're stressed and they still hang out all day. When they're not with their respective boyfriends, of course. But omfg I really want to write a ShishiGaku friendship fic now where they just like... hang out and do bffl sorts of things. OMG SO CUTE.
And baby Yuushi. HAS A TAKOYAKI CELL CHARM. Aww. And he introduces himself as "Oshitari who came from Osaka." So adorable. He has yet to develop his sex voice, but I guess he's not supposed to have had his voice change, so. And his rudimentary version of Higuma Otoshi is ADORABLE oh god. As is Gakkun's first attempt at Acrobatic Play. SO CUTE UWAAAA.
... Inoue showing up at the end was a little wtf. And Piyo still had tiny eyes and a creeper voice ever when he was TINY! It's hard to imagine that Choutarou pubes and grows like, twice as big as he is here in 2 years... but he's still omg shota cuteness. XD;;;
Also, from what I can tell at the end, Atobe becomes the buchou and makes all the ichinen his regulars, because they change uniform for the last shot of all of them together... If he does, that must have caused a real stir. To think, while Tez was getting beat up for being good at tennis, Atobe stages a massive coup d'etat of sorts and takes over Hyoutei. XD;;; Cute.
All in all... I would watch it again because I'm still fangasming. XD;;; OMFG.

Date: 2009-05-30 02:30 am (UTC)I don't know. The Hyoutei one is based on the short from 40.5, so it's actually not really an OVA in the purest sense, since it's coming from the manga. I don't know of the existence of a Rikkai one because I don't own 40.5 and I've yet to find any complete scans of 40.5. So... basically, maybe. XD;;;;
HOWEVER. I have seen art of baby Rikkai. Anime-style art. So maybe?

And it looks like we'll get some Rikkai, mostly because of the opening, which has the tiny Kirihara going up against the "three demons." That happened his first year, so we'll get to see everyone else in their second?
Why is there such a difference in height/age/relative appearance between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year? Yeesh.
