chiachiaamichan has converted me to the wicked ways of another ship, but I still think this is a pretty cute pair.

They're picking up balls again after the Regulars have already left for the changing rooms. They've managed to ditch Horio somewhere along the line, so they have peace and quiet when they want it, and they can chat as they please without his self-important interjections and announcements. Searching for stray balls hit over the fence, they kneel in the grass, shared basket set somewhere between the two of them.

The weather is pleasant and the conversation has died down, and they're content, really, both of them. They've almost collected all the balls now, and Kachiro is just reaching to pick up the basket when Katsuo gets his attention, extending one last ball towards him with an apologetic smile.

Kachiro smiles too and reaches for the ball, and when he grasps it, his hand overlaps slightly with Katsuo's. Immediately, he feels his face heat up, though he doesn't quite understand why, and then Kachiro's blushing, too, and they're frozen, fingers touching, faces hot.

Kachiro finally manages to break away after a minute that has felt like an eternity; he puts the ball in the basket and smiles sheepishly back at Katsuo as he rises, too. He's about to head back to the courts when Katsuo suddenly offers to help and, before Kachiro can respond, places his hand over Kachiro's on the handle of the basket.

With this excuse, they walk, hand in hand, back to the courts. Only after they've put everything away does Horio reappear, asking loudly why they're both blushing.
