So, I'm 40 minutes in and I decided to give it a rest for now, because ho god does that movie currently make me want to gouge my eyes out.

Though I'm still disapproving of the representation of Hyoutei in general, I have to admit, Gakuto's bangs were cute. It doesn't match the cuteness that should be the rest of his hair and isn't, but they were cute and kudos to the people for keeping them pointed. Atobe, however, does not awe me, and, in fact, strongly displeases me. They should have gotten Kato Kazuki, damnit. And his hair is just. Not. Okay.

The Pillar Pair part was cute.

The tennis special effects are really ridiculous, though. Honestly. They could have left them out or something. It's so bad.

Prince of Tennis definitely translates better into musical format than movie format. And here this makes me wonder if reading the manga wouldn't make me hate my beloved Ping Pong.

The tennis special effects probably seem even worse in contrast with the AWESOME special effects in Ping Pong which are obviously SO AWESOME THEY ARE LIKE THE MATRIX. XD

It sucks that the movie is so bad, though. The people who made the musicals must have just been a lot better at it. (And realized that they shouldn't try to fit the whole series into one?)

Um... they just kind of jump around a lot... It's not the whole series, but like, a whole season. They also added random shit... I don't know, it just really turned me off. Atobe was probably the biggest problem, to be perfectly honest... Hyoutei in general, but Atobe, to pinpoint it. If you ruin something that beautiful, there's just no saving anything.

I watched about the first 30 minutes before I gave up on that, if I recall correctly. Also, I've heard that that old guy who appears out of nowhere and taunts Seigaku replaces Hiyoshi..? That sort-of turned me off from watching the rest of it, because I love my darling mushroom-head.

Yeah... I'm going to try to finish it sometime, but... just no. I feel like if I had never seen the series before it might have been okay, but yeah. No. ALSO THE HAIR COLOURS. THE HAIIIIIR COLOOOOOOOOURS.

I'll let you know about Hiyoshi when I get there, but for the time being, I'm crying about Atobe. TT___TT;;
