Like no one did this last time, so I'll try again XD;
1. Comment in this post with a pairing, a character, or a threesome.
2. I shall write you back a paragraph explaining what I think about it (good, bad, indifferent) and why.
3. Fools! Let us engage in argumentative affairs if applicable. Repost and you will meet the same fate.
You guys know my fandoms. Saiyuki, Wild Adapter/Araiso, Bus Gamer, Stigma, Fullmetal Alchemist, Yu Yu Hakusho, Yuugiou, and Princess Tutu are the ones I can think of off hand that I'd feel comfortable arguing, and pretty much in the order of comfort, though not entirely....
COME ON GUYS, DO IT THIS TIME.
In other news, this song is like, one giant sexual innuendo. At one point, Kurama is repeating "心の水" which translates to "water of my heart" while Hiei is rapping "Come, come, come" XD;;;;;;;; Tell me that is not blatantly sexual. Please. XD

Date: 2008-12-30 05:23 am (UTC)As to Kougaiji,
-I believe Yaone is devoted to Kougaiji beyond anything else in the world, and could possibly be in love with him. However, I believe that he does not love her-- he's far too preoccupied with his mother and everything else. He cares about her, certainly, but I don't like to see him paired with her. She's too clingy, too feminine... She can't provide the support and care Kougaiji needs. Kougaiji is a train wreck waiting to happen, and Yaone can't save him, can't support him. Yaone isn't what Kougaiji needs.
-I believe Doku is also devoted to Kougaiji and I also think he's in love with him. Though I think Kougaiji probably doesn't notice him, either, I do believe that they could be together. Unlike Yaone, who is needy herself, Dokugakuji is looking to protect and take care of someone, and though Kougaiji doesn't always need to be protected or cared for, he does need support, and Dokugakuji can offer that.
Uhh. Hope that was eloquent enough XD;;;; Sorry

Date: 2009-01-02 07:27 am (UTC)Quoted from this LJ. Translation of some I don't know if you've seen it before but...
[Rikei]: No, I should be thanking you… Um, Hakkai-san?... Do you like Gojyo-san?
[Hakkai]: Eh?... Yes, I do. You see, it’s been declared that we devote ourselves to one another
[Rikei]: Gojyo san, are you happy?
[Gojyo]: Ah? … I guess so. Well, it ain’t bad
SQUEE.♥ AND AND LOOK AT THIS AS WELL!! ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF 58 'OFFCIAL-NESS'
But I agree with your points, its all I've ever wanted to say but never could. I like Sanzo/Hakkai to be a secondary pairing, maybe in the past? Because in vol 4, the Sanzo/Hakkai comes off very strong
to me only maybebut in later volumes, the 58 gets more stronger. ^^ In Gaiden I only ever write Tenpou/Konzen as a past pairing, same with Goujun/Tenpou; because 10K is so much more fun to write. And you KNOW that Kenren would get jealous so much!gah, my own reply is so long as well XD
Hmn, your Kou argument makes sense! *is impressed*

I'm glad you like my points, but again, even in volume four, I don't see 38. Sanzo is there to keep Hakkai sane-- again, he cares and does want to help with Hakkai's problems, but it's not love, it's not passion. It's objective, more distanced. Sanzo and Hakkai lead Chin Yisou away from Goku and Gojyo because those two are injured-- Hakkai and Sanzo sacrifice themselves for their loved ones, in a sense. And even once they're separate, Sanzo's ways of keeping Hakkai from losing himself are different than Gojyo's-- there's an air of urgency when Gojyo tells Hakkai to remember he's not Gonou anymore, whereas Sanzo coaches him almost like he's on the sidelines. There's not the emotional tie, more like an emotional understanding. All in all, I don't see it. Sanzo and Hakkai have a connection, that's for sure... it's almost like they understand one another without speaking or words. But I've never seen it as love.
I'm glad we can have a debate, it's fun! And thanks so much, I pride myself in my character analysis. XD;

I don't know if you've seen this already, but yeah. *SQUEEE*
Hmn, well, I don't know if its just me, but I remember looong looong looong time ago
around 5 or so years agothere were a bit more 383 fanfics than 585. I guess I got that preference from there, and I think most of the fanfic writers got most of their material mostly from vol 4, or the Yisou arc.I like to think that Minekura tried going for 383 at first then changed tack to 585, but that's just me. From what you said, 383 seems to be more of a platonic friendship? Or if it ever goes sexual, a 'friends with benefits' situation? I find 535 is more lust than love as well, but then again, that's jsut me talking.
Hehe. I fail at coherence though >__

Date: 2009-01-05 06:42 pm (UTC)I've recently reread ^^; Or else it would have been just as long for me. But what fandom does really doesn't perturb me, seeing as I feel Minekura does her best to put in hints for every combination and pair ever, and to just make everyone as gay as possibly subtextually. Fans will jump on anything, really. I mean, I've seen Gojyo/Hazel just because they argued a deal in book 6. The Chin Yisou ark never gave me any vibe of 383 in a sexual or romantic sense, even the first read through, before I had any pairings in mind. Sanzo just seemed out to keep Hakkai sane.
Again, I really can't agree with this... because just after Chin Yisou, she launches into Be There, and ark completely saturated with 58. There is so, so much 58-subtext in that ark that I don't think she could have possibly had anything else in mind... after all, from comments everyone makes, it's obvious she had the Be There story planned before she started the series. Also, straight before Chin Yisou shows up, Hakkai is off on his own in the woods emoing, and Gojyo is the one who comes to find him. That section is also rather indicative of 58, from the comments they make and the genuine concern Gojyo shows for Hakkai. Also remember that the first person Chin Yisou attacks to get at Hakkai is Gojyo. In order to force him to watch Sanzo shoot Gojyo, in order to get Hakkai on edge, to pass out, even, he attacks Gojyo first. Even in the earlier arcs, such as the one with Shunrei, where Gojyo is hitting on her because he thinks Dokugakuji may have been her fiancee, there are strong hints towards 58. I don't believe Minekura ever doubted the pairings she had in mind, but I do believe she likes to hint at everything, just for fun. Half of volume 7 is an example of her throwing in some 53, even though, for the most part, she clearly aims towards 39, and there are also, if less prominent, examples of 89 and 59, and though I could tell you them if I had the books in front of me, I can't right at this instant...

Date: 2009-01-05 06:42 pm (UTC)As to 535, I really hate it, but yes, I can see, if, for some reason, Sanzo needed sexual favours, something happening between the two. In this relationship, however, I don't think either could be comfortable because it would be a constant struggle. Sanzo can never, ever give up being in a position of power because he terrified, and I think it would take years of a loving relationship for him to ease out of that, if he ever really could. Gojyo, on the other hand, needs open love and constant reassurance in an intimate relationship, because he feels abandoned by everyone he's ever loved. I feel as if they could never fully let down their guard to one another, and neither would benefit emotionally from the situation. Though sexually, I'm sure it would work fine, if only for a short period of time, I don't think either would really be truly comfortable with it, and, in the end, it would lead to something bad happening, a fall out or something. I just don't think either is the correct niche, if you will, for the other. They don't provide what the other needs, like Goku provides for Sanzo and Hakkai provides for Gojyo, and vise versa.
Haha, sorry I wrote you another essay...
