Aaaah, where to begin ;~; おつかれさま on finishing, is a good place I guess! Another into the top ten, Shori's so wordy~
I love all the little details and I know you said it's probably crazy historically inaccruate but still |D Just stuff like the realities of attendants everywhere and Kento's time being so ridiculously managed, and Shori having to take lessons upon lessons, and how they don't actually see each other much even once they're married, and Kento's advisors being so ready to replace Shori. It really adds to the feeling of time passing and how the story takes place over years and this isn't just some isolated thing, there's a whole world that they're part of with tons of people we don't even hear about let alone see.
And of course Shori is so Shori - thinking of a hankercheif as a form of artistic expression (which I guess embroidery is, but still |D;;) and attributing his lack of breath more to feelings than the corset he's still not used to and pressing flowers, and shooing off his attendants cause he doesn't want them to get sick ;~~~; he's such a sweetie and I feel like you got him really well here. Also I will never stop giggling at the image of Shori as "a very small boy in a very large dress" because it's so accurate and every time I see old clothes or costumes from that era of French fashion I'm just like how did they move and Shori is so tiny already XD;;
I really like you working in the pv costumes too XD Shori with his drapey blue tunics and Kento all in red, etc. And the push-pull between Fuma's constant tirades about Kento having the morals of a cat and us seeing from Shori's pov as Kento constantly goes above and beyond for him. Having been told more about the verse, I know how things end up |D;; but from this fic alone, there really is an underlying current of but who do we believe? that I think does run through Shori's mind even if he doesn't acknowledge it and brushes it off as Fuma being over-protective.
Also the little Fuma/Hokuto shout out at the beginning, Shori you perceptive little thing~
