I mean we don't see a lot of their relationship on a day to day basis in the series, aside from the fact that they clearly care a ton about each other but that Hiro flirts all over and Erica kicks his ass for it. He's clearly partial to grand over the top gestures, what with the strawberries thing (which I admit I'd kind of forgotten about till I thought about it, go me, I take back that "even plan a grand romantic gesture" *headdesk*). I can see him planning some giant serenade with a super romantic song and like bullying Jun and Kenjirou into be his backup singers or something. I guess I wouldn't have thought him the type to do research into a song in another language that fits their relationship? but like, I like that you used Never My Love. It works for them and it has the ABC-Z link which gives me all the warm fluffy feelings so even if it maybe is a little out of character (depending on your interpretation of him)....I don't care? I like the fic, it's sweet and adorable and Erica being torn between loving the crap out of Hiro but being so tired of always fighting and having to be exactly on top of the ball was wonderfully done.
So like, I definitely don't think he could do it cold, or even know to find it cold, and wouldn't have pegged him to pick a song that would involve english if he was doing a grand gesture? But of course, I'm hardly the authority on what Hiro would or wouldn't do |D I was trying to tease back and it came across badly :/
