Ahaha... I should be in bed. But ever since seeing Takumi-kun 2, I can't get this pair out of my head XD;; I've watched the movie wayyyy more times than I ought to have already, so... if you didn't see this coming, obviously you have a life you were unprepared.

...Also, I need an RPS tag that's not "tenimyu" since like... half of my RPS fics don't actually pertain to Tenimyu even if they're about Tenimyu actors... *rolls*

Okay, now it's sleep time.

Title: Vietnam

Disclaimer: Mao and Daisuke are their own people and don't belong to me in any way... even if I wish they did.

Pairing: Dai/Mao

Rating: PG

Warnings: RPS! BL, mentions of Daisuke's idol DVD

Author's Note: I've fallen in love with this pairing. XD; I always feel bad when I write fic not based on like, a specific incident in peoples' lives, because then I somehow feel like it's implausible with RPS... but I think I'm being silly. XD;;; I hope. So yeah, I have no idea where this fic falls in timeline.

It was late by the time Daisuke made it home that evening-- on top of everything else, he had had to fit in a last-minute meeting with his manager about an upcoming interview, and it was almost midnight by the time he was fumbling with the key to let himself in. He was surprised to find the door unlocked, but, subsequently, was less surprised to hear the dull noise of the television playing in the next room as stepped out of his shoes and dumped his bag in the entrance hall. Despite his state of fatigue, he couldn't help but smile when, sure enough, upon entry to the living room, he was met with the sight of Mao, sitting cross-legged in front of the television, leaning forward towards the set with his elbows resting on the ground and his face resting in his palms in a modest display of flexibility. He was entirely engrossed in whatever he was watching, and Daisuke was left to look over him fondly for a moment before announcing, "Tadaima."

Mao sat up immediately at the sound of Daisuke's voice, a grin breaking out across his face, and he reached for the remote control, but before he could move, Daisuke sat beside him, pressing a tender kiss to the back of his neck. Mao smiled in response, but leaned forward and muted the TV, anyway, before allowing Daisuke to wrap an arm around him and settling into the embrace. "You're home late," he commented blandly. "You look totally worn out."

"Well, thanks," Daisuke replied teasingly, ruffling Mao's hair before resting his head lightly against Mao's. "Yeah... it was a long day. I'm glad it's done."

Mao nodded with such solemnity that it really was adorable, and Daisuke couldn't help but chuckle slightly, brushing another kiss to his lips. Mao smiled sheepishly for a moment, but quickly returned to his expression of complete seriousness, reaching for the remote again. "Let's get you to bed, then."

Honestly, that sounded wonderful to Daisuke, but as he followed Mao's movements, he suddenly caught sight of what was playing on the television and almost immediately did a double-take. The person on the television screen was... him? "Mao... what are you watching?"

Mao blinked innocently, glancing at the Daisuke on the screen, who had been previously detailing his impressions of Vietnam and was now at an airport as the credits ran intermittently. "Your idol DVD. Why?"

Daisuke was almost certain he felt himself flush, even as Mao continued to give him possibly the most adorably confused expression he had ever seen. "...How much did you watch of it?"

"Pretty much all of it. Until you came home," Mao replied matter-of-factly. "That scene on the beach was pretty sexy, you know~"

Now Daisuke was absolutely certain he was blushing. The thought of Mao watching something like that, which had been filmed to pander to the whims of the squealing fangirl masses, was more than embarrassing, and he ran a hand through his hair awkwardly. "Why?"

Mao pouted, shrugging. "Because I figured if all the fangirls should get to see it, I should get to see it, too, right? You're not upset, are you?"

"No," Daisuke replied hurried, wondering how it was possibly for one person to have so many expressions in so many varying degrees of cute the way his boyfriend did. "It's just..." But he wasn't quite sure how to describe how he felt about it, so he trailed, looking at Mao and hoping he would understand.

But Mao only grinned, finally shutting off the DVD player and the television with a click of the remote, before leaning in close. "Well," he replied, his voice lower than normal, "I do prefer you in person." But before Daisuke could even respond properly, Mao was hopping to his feet and taking Daisuke's hand and hoisting him up as well, wagging a finger in an extremely sudden change in attitude. "Come on, we've got to get you to bed."

Daisuke dutifully allowed himself to be dragged towards the bedroom and tugged into bed, still not quite sure what to think. He knew it was ridiculous, especially because, here he was, comfortably in bed with Mao tucked neatly in one arm and with his head resting against Daisuke's chest, and it was the perfect situation in which to fall asleep after a long day, yet here he was, fretting over the fact that his boyfriend had watched his idol DVD. Honestly, it was bound to happen sooner or later, considering. Why was it such a big deal?

But, after a good fifteen minutes of laying in the dark feeling restless, it became obvious that somehow, it was a big deal, and so, gently, he pressed a kiss to Mao's forehead, which was just as effective as asking if he was awake, really. Sure enough, Mao's eyes fluttered open to meet his questioningly, and despite the fact that he was met with that gaze every day, Daisuke still had to brace himself against the cute before asking, "Well... what did you think?"

Mao blinked at him. "Of the idol DVD?"

Daisuke could feel himself flush slightly again in the dark. "Yeah."

A soft grin broke out on Mao's face, and he let his eyes fall shut again, snuggling a little further against Daisuke's neck such that Daisuke could feel his breath lightly against his chest with a soft hum. "I think that next time you go to Vietnam, you should take me along."

It was only a moment before Daisuke grinned slightly, too, holding Mao a little closer still. "Of course," he murmured gently against the shell of his ear, "And next time we'll ditch the camera men, too."

Mao laughed softly, his voice was laced with sleep. "I'd like that. Now hurry up and go to sleep before I decide I like the you on TV better than the real you, after all."

Mao awoke the next morning feeling vaguely like he had had a conversation with Daisuke about something last night, but unsure as to the topic. Daisuke was nowhere in sight despite the fact that it was a Sunday as Mao shuffled into the kitchen in search of food and coffee, but Mao was less than concerned. He could amuse himself with more DVDs, after all, and, it appeared, Daisuke had left the paper sitting out, as well. Mao glanced at it once on his way to the coffee pot, but it was only on the second look that Mao realized what Daisuke had left out: a half-page colour advertisement for a resort in Vietnam. The advertisement was circled in pen and labeled, "Next holiday."

Mao couldn't help but grin, and bounded back into the living room to watch the DVD again. After all, he had to pick the places he wanted to go.

If DaiMao should belong to anyone, it will be ME. *cough, bricked*

Mao being confused as to why Daisuke would be defensive about Mao seeing his DVD...... XDDDDD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH THAT IS SO CUUUUUUUUTE.

I swear Daisuke is, like, the luckiest being on earth. Shipping momentarily put aside, HE GETS TO KISS MAO. REPEATEDLY. AOUSHDFNALKSUHFNASKUDFHASIUDH.

Anyway, back to shipping. DAISUKE IS THE LUCKIEST BEING ON EARTH, HAVING THE CUTEST KID ON THE PLANET FOR A BOYFRIEND.

*DIES OF THE CUTE*

Aaaaaaaaah I have like a million and one fics to finish, DAMN YOU SCHOOL *SHAKES FIST* LET ME WRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITE.

Mao!muse is behaving and not distracting me from school, absolutely refusing to let me write until I'm sure exams are finally, FINALLY over. Dai!muse is always unmotivated when Mao!muse is not helping me with fics, so his sexy ass has been lazy on the couch in the Writing Room in my head for the past month or so, HE IS TAUNTING ME JUST BY STRETCHING OUT THERE AND LOOKING SEXY. AND SILLY MAO!MUSE IS BEHAVING.

Wow, this is a lengthy comment. XD;

I'm glad you liked it! When I watched Daisuke's idol DVD, all I could think was wondering what Mao thought of it. XD; My friends and I kept jokingly inserting Mao into his dialogue in the parts where he was rolling around on the beach and in his bed and stuff. XD;

I hope you get to write soon! I want to read your fics~

I have a shit ton of homework I put off and I also have to craft a bit in preparation for Katsucon today, but I'll try and write your birthday fic later and see if I can't cheer you up a little more. No promises, because I kind of fail and am on a RPS kick (I want to write SaiRui >>;) but I'm going to try for you!

You can look through this tag for all my unfinished work ^^;
