やっと見つけた!
So I've been searching around for this off and on for a while, but I finally found it~ Apparently, Yugo goes to school here. I wish I could find anything about his major and stuff, but since it's Yugo, it's hard to find anything. =___=; Does anyone have any idea what it is?
Also, on the topic of juniors, if you want to discuss the Myojo rankings, I'm still happy to discuss choices here! Additionally, this month's poll at
bakaleya_kumi is about covering senpai songs, so if that interests you, check it out here~
And now, back to puzzling over who to choose in the junior ranking...
[Edit] After some more digging around, I haven't found anyone on any Japanese blogs/Japanese yahoo answers/2chan with a definite answer as to his major, but from what classes Japanese people are saying he's taking, I'm guessing that he's majoring in the area of 表現文化 in the department of 総合文化. The most natural way to translate the department name to me is "the school of arts and sciences" (like at most liberal arts colleges?) but they translate it as the Department of Transcultural Studies? I don't really know. Basically, the school has a business and economics school, a psych/sociology school, and a humanities school. Under the humanities school, there's a generic "arts and sciences" department, and then a studio art department. Within the arts and sciences/"transcultural studies" department, there are three areas: Japanese culture and literature, cross-cultural comparative studies of culture and literature, and the one that I think Yugo is in, 表現文化, which... I'm having trouble translating. Literally, it's "expression culture," but it seems from the courses offered that it's more like "communication and media cultural studies" or something like that. The topics for the classes are stuff like art history, film studies, study of pop culture, study of the fashion industry, study of theatre culture, etc. Based on what Japanese fans are saying he's studying, I think he has to be in this field. :D

Liberal arts means a college where it's required that you get a rounded education rather than just focusing on a single field. For example, at my college, I had to take two years of a foreign language, two math or science classes, two humanities classes, and two social sciences classes, as well as all the classes for my major. You can read more on the wikipedia article here, where liberal arts is defined as college or university curriculum aimed at imparting broad general knowledge and developing general intellectual capacities. ^^
