Shounen Club on the second watch...

So many people got hit in the head |D First Jinguji got hit with the stool while he and Hokuto were rolling around on the ground, and it actually looked sort of painful o__O; And then Kento with stupid Suzuki Shun'ei's lollypop. XD Additionally, I highly enjoy Kishi's intensely (o A o) look when he was caught sitting on Jinchan's lap. |D;; I bet Fu was jealous after that... |D;;;

I really wish they'd have something else happen with those 3 minutes or whatever than have Shori announce the same Juniors week after week. We all know them all already, or if we don't, it's because we don't want to. You could put the same juniors in a number that was actually interesting to watch. I just don't get it. Is it out of laziness? They don't want to choreograph and rehearse another number? Or what?

On a final note... I was disappointed Gengen didn't get to be in Candy. :<

Unrelatedly, lalala, I need to work on hols... >__> Maybe on Monday. It's Gunma day!

I have to admit, I didn't watch Shounen Club very religiously before I moved to Japan, but I still think it's pretty sloppy. There groupings are really loose, and I already knew all the people's names who I was going to know beforehand, and don't learn anything because they go by so quickly and no one is doing anything memorable during the two seconds of intro (or less) that they get. 2015 is still a long while off (two years from this month's Myojo), and based on the trend of non-volleyball groups, if there's a debut before 2015, it will likely be a group of people whose average age is closer to 20, unlike the kids they're showing off.

I understand doing Ki Ni Naru J, bringing the kids into the talk and MC segments, having them on Jr. ni Q, and featuring them in song and dance numbers, but literally having Shori say their names one by one as they do a little bit of a dance in vaguely-logical groupings just seems sloppy to me. I know lots of things about Johnny's are sloppy, and I'm not doubting you that they do it for a reason; I'm sure you know better than I do what they did before NEWS and JUMP debuted... but I still don't like it.

No what I meant is they showcase these juniors so they can debut other juniors. That way they still have a solid junior base even if there are some popular ones taken away, not that they will be debuting these younger ones. That's the way it usually works.

And this is not the first time they have introduced juniors one by one like this. They have done it a lot in the past. It may be sloppy, but it's nothing different than the usual. And I don't like it much either, but I understand a little of why they do it. I just wished they focused a little more on those juniors they introduce instead of like 2 seconds of camera time.

I see. Well, in that case, I hope they're going to debut the Bakaleya guys soon. XD;;; I know that that's the way it works, but I wasn't clear on what you meant. Sorry!

Yeah, I agree with you. I just don't see the point in it if you don't really get to see them or learn anything about them. It seems like a waste of time to me, even if Johnny's clearly thinks it works.

Bakaleya6 ftw! We can dream right!? I'm sure at least a couple of those boys will eventually debut. ;___;

Well, I guess it works good enough for them. Or else they would have stopped using that method a long time ago right? But it's a shame.

Yeah, we can dream. T____T;;; I don't know if I can handle it if some of them debut and not others, though. It'll break my heart ;___;

True XD;; I also think it's a shame, though.

I have had my heart broken so many time as a junior fan by now that I am completely numb to it. ;___;

;____; I was late to the Junior game, so my heart is still mending from B.I.Shadow... I don't want it to break again. T____T;

Yeah, my biggest heartbreak was Ya-Ya-yah. They were my babies ever since a got into the fadom so long ago. *devoted Hikaru fan much?*

I can only imagine... that must have been awful ;~~~;

[identity profile] rorychan.livejournal.com 2013-10-26 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
It was. Especially since the unit technically existed since 2001 which was already a really long time by that point. I mean, they were on the original Shounen Club episodes when they were being filmed at the other location.

Yeah, that's really crazy. It must have been heartbreaking.
