Contrary to the banner, this journal is not friends only. Rather, it is semi-friends only for the reason that I like people to comment before they friend me. Why? Because I don't feel comfortable with complete strangers friending me. It's as simple as that. I don't expect anything fancy and I don't bite- just drop me a comment stating who you are and why you'd like to friend me, and, chances are, I'll friend you back. Fandoms in common help a lot, too. However, if you don't comment on this post, I won't friend you back, simple as that.

Two things: I don't friend journals that are linked to twitter/facebook/other social media (so that the majority of the posts are, for example, a conglomeration of tweets) and I don't friend journals that are mostly sales journals. I am Charisse Piere Mae O. Ubalde born last June 16, 1993 on a Wednesday sometime at dawn (haven't asked what it was) and my mom said it was full moon at that time ( no wonder I love full moons).

I was supposedly to be names as Maria Kenneth as per requested by my mother however my aunt said that kenneth is a sickly name. so she said Charisse instead, which means gift. my mom agreed because my aunt ACTUALLY insisted and probably agreed to my name’s meaning because indeed I was a gift in the family ( my mom giving birth to me at age of 32, in other countries very usual but in ours [Philippines} too old).

Piere is the Latin equivalent of Pete (the name of my father) despite the fact that my father left us before my mom even gave birth to me it was so nice of my mom to offer one of my name to my dad, hmmmm……I wonder if she regrets.

actually, that’s now what I really mean (getting pissed and angry to y dad for leaving us, I better without him sometimes ) I wonder if my mom regrets giving mw that name because, Piere is usually spelled as Pierre, double R. I dunno what went to my mom’s mind that she spelled it as one R ( she was sure that she didn’t get it wrong) so what now happens is that I ALWAYS get misspelled name in school, especially on official school documents, like my diploma. when I received my diploma I have to go back to school to make corrections to it since I might have problems in the future about it.it took almost a month for it to be fixed and me getting it, this time correctly spelled.

Mae, there’s not much of a story in this name since it’s a very common name. in my country [Philippines] since we are a Roman Catholic country, usually Mama Mary’s name: Mary, Mae, Maria, Marie, Marianne, Maryanne, to name a few is integrated to the girls’ name so having a Mae in my name isn’t really that shocking or it has a really funny or serious background story.

I have discussed my name what’s next to discuss, hmmm……Oh btw, I am not called by my friends as cha ( tradition of people making the first 3 letters of the person as their nickname) my nickname is Chai. actually as I grew up I had so many nicknames: Cha, Chay, Isse, Chuchai, Buchai, VoChai, Chayuga, PierMae, Mama Sang, and Mama Chai. you see, I have tons but you know how they came up is really funny. with Cha and Chay its pretty predictable, it just came up by my mom so let’s touch to much about it.

Chuchai came up when I was in 3rd year high school. I was the one who made it myself and decided to replace my Friendster( at that time Facebook wasn’t a big deal yet) name in Chuchai instead of simply Chai, of course being a lot of people is addicted to SNS already, they immediately picked up the name. the my homeroom teacher began calling me chuchai until everyone in the room started to call me. but the surreal thing is when I reached 4th year high school I had a different nickname already (which I will discuss in the next paragraph) but when I received my high school yearbook Chu chai was one of my nicknames, cute! teenagers usually tend to forget things as they pass by so I was shocked when I found out that actually someone from the yearbook staff remembered and consider placing it. well, I appreciated it very much.

Buchai and VoChai, was my 4th year high school nicknames. Buchai is actually a combination of BU and Chai. Bu came from BUING (it came from one of the dialects here in the Philippines, bisaya) it means crazy in English. I had a group of friends who are all crazy in so many ways, and since they were originally called the –ingz, when I entered the group they added Bu, and later became BU-INGZ. they had name like ming, ning, maeng, ling, ting and the me buchai… that’s is our endearment to each other, and AGAIN, my classmates happened to picked it up they started to call me buchai as well. actually, it was only MY nickname they used against me, my friends nicknames weren’t used to call them by other people. I was actually confused about it but nevertheless at the end of the day it was okae since I had a sort of another identity by having a new nickname.

Vochai, you see they actually just a same pronunciation with Buchai, Vochai actually evolved from there. like the usual in high school there will always be love teams and I had one----unluckily. his name was Vo-van ( I don’t know were his name came from and I really don’t care so let’s bother too much about it). we are actually the literal meaning of fighting cat and dogs, I mean they will never be a day that we will never clash. if we actually do fell in one group, it only means one thing----CHAOS. I am not exactly sure why we always fight however, we really clash everyday and in every way. we always just have different opinion about things, and probably because both of us has a VERY strong personality we fight for what we think is right strongly, making us clash every time. plus he is a very loud person to the extent that he never shuts his mouth even he had already insulted someone. so buchai was replaced with Vochai.

Chayuga, I actually don’t remember where it actually came from however I do remember the person who invented that name. Piermae, this one came from the pranks of people so used in calling the first names of others instead of the second realizing that the second name has more sense of uniqueness. So in every year, when people just want to make fun of others they starting to call them in their second names, like mine since my second name is Piere Mae, they call me Piermae. And most of the times to make me get really pissed they only call me Pier, you know pier, where the big boats or ferries are found.

Mama Sang and Mama Chai, so many people felt my motherly personality so they call me Mama Chai. In third year, my motherly personality wasn’t yet that evident and bold that someone calls me Mama Chai. When they found out I had that kind of personality they first starting to call me as mama sang (since I was really chubby way back that I look like one). Everyone in my 3rd year class calls me Mama Sang, at first I didn’t really like it but eventually I’ve gotten used to it. But when I reached 4th year, they were a lot of my classmates that bold enough to actually call me Mama Chai, until it also became my another nickname; to those who I am not really close calls me Buchai and the others calls me Mama Chai, even if the teacher is in front they call me that name, making a lot of people ask why. I appreciated it because they saw my motherly personality and was really bold enough to call me “Mama” and whenever they need help they come to me as a son or daughter.

Most of my nicknames started to evolve in my high school days, now that I’m now a 3rd year college student these nicknames were actually carried over. They were still some who picked up Buchai and calls me once in a while, but most calls me Chai since it’s really my official nickname. But to those how have gotten really close to me in college and saw my mother personality calls me boldly Mama Chai.

My name is really rich isn’t it? It has so many histories but I am not yet done, I haven’t really talked who I am really, personality-wise. I just realized that when I begin to touch in that it might take me a few days to finish it actually.

Many of my friends told me that I have a VERY deep personality that making them hard to dig deep. I admit I have a very deep personality. You see, when I was a kid I always have this dilemma “why does he know who exactly his friend is?” “Is it really possible for a certain person to know someone deeply aside from its family?” but my biggest question is, “can you really answer t yourself and expound to others ‘who am I’?” with all this curiosity going through my head I began to find the answers at a very young age. I began this journey at maybe I was around 9-10 years old. I began discovering myself slowly; that maybe the reason why I’m deep. So introducing me personality-wise might take too much time.

But first let’s have some slum book style of introduction to probably further breakdown myself.

Q1. Nickname
A: I have already stated it above

Q2. If you were to describe your personality in one word what would it be?
A: as what I said before this will take us a little longer. But to describe my personality on one word then it would be deep


Q3. What's your hobby?
A: I have tons of hobbies; it seems that when it comes to my hobbies I have tons free time. I love surfing the net, I could be in front a computer and surf probably the whole day. Aside from the surfing the internet, I also love watching TV; its okay for me not be able to leave the house as long as there’s TV. I am like Takaki Yuya (Hey! Say! JUMP) I am into foreign drama this time not influenced by anyone but I have been into it ever since Gossip girl started. Right now, I am watching make it or break it season 2 and trying to download gossip girl season 5.


Q4. What are skilled in?
A: the answers of the Yuma and BI shadow here concerns sports but I am not the sporty type though I love to watch sports. I am more a fan and critic when it comes to sports; so, I’ll have a different answer perhaps, what am I skilled in hmmmm…? I am actually not sure, haha. It’s because I’m the type of person (sad to say) but “job of all trades, master of none” this means that I have tried probably everything or I am capable of everything but that doesn’t mean i am master of it or I am that really skilled in it. But to name a few I am good in editing, right now I am trying to learn to aegisub software so I can translate videos in the future.


Q5. What do you dislike?
A: I just don’t dislike them but I hate them--------cockroaches. Whenever I see one my adrenaline rushed to my brain I freak out. Actually I am not scared of snakes and rats, I could even touch them If I could but cockroaches, oh please I’d rather be dies than have something got to do with them.

Q6. What's your favorite food?
A: now, here’s the thing when it comes to food I have no certain favorite since I LOVE to eat. If you could take time to look at my picture I am actually fat Sad smile . But my comfort food is Italian and American dishes: pasta, pizza and hamburger.

Q7: What foods do you dislike?
A: carrots, and potato (but I eat French fries)

Q8: What's your favorite color?
A: Blue (bleed blue)


Q9: Is there anything you collect?
A: before when I was still a kid, my mom is so fond in taking me to fast food chains since whatever they are serving, even though you have eaten the same thing for the whole day, kids would still love to go back especially if their toys are nice. Whenever we eat in fast food chains we would always acquire the toys they have resulting to almost 5 cabinets full of toys and other toys not yet even fitting. I have tons of toys from fast food chains, I was not really meant for me to collect it but since I love eating at fast food chains it began like a collection because they were so many of them, the most I had was the 101 Dalmatians of McDonalds that until now I didn’t dispose nor plan to.

Q10: Is there anything you want right now?
A: I want a beats headphone, gigantic speakers, new laptop with 1Tb external hard disk and DVD-ROM, but most of all travel to Japan, watch WakuWaku Gakkou in my birthday, and have my own room ( is till sleep beside my mom since our house is not that spacious to have my own room)


Q11: What do you usually buy at the convenient store?
A: If it's snacks I like sweets and salty snack, I like all of them. I am actually not fond of chips since when I was kid my mom was really strict of me not eating any chips at all. I had that carried now that I am a teenager I don’t eat chips, if I do it’s most likely of jealousy since everyone around me is eating one.


Q12: Where's your favorite store to shop?
A: bookstore and shoe store. Whenever I go to a mall that’s usually the first place I check out first

Q13: What's your favorite fashion style?
A: I love to wear comfortable clothes like denim and shirt. I am not really that keen with fashion since I am not that surrounded with fashion conscious friends; actually out of my friends I am the one who is even more conscious about it.

Q14: Who you think is fashionable?
A: Hollywood actress, i have nothing specific in mind but whatever I see in magazines I try to see if it fits e then follow it


Q15: Do you have any habits?
A: staring at nowhere spacing out with my hands under my chin,

Q18: How long does it take for you to wake up and get ready in the morning?
A: in waking up, when its school days around 3 minutes since I can’t afford to be late because we have everyday quizzes in my majors but when its weekends probably 30 minutes Rolling on the floor laughing I love rolling around my bed especially when I am alone already Laughing out loud in getting ready whether its school or not, an hour and probably with extra 15 minutes. I just can’t handle to go less than that.


Q19: How do you spend your day off?
A: I just relax at home, watch TV shows or DVDs, surf the net and sleep


Q20: Tell us your ideal date Red heart :
A: I have never been in a date but I appreciate sport date Soccer ball , like watch some sports in afternoon, so that we won’t really be awkward with each other, after the game share our thoughts through eating somewhere perhaps, then stroll around until my curfew.


Q21: What did you eat for dinner yesterday and what did you eat for breakfast today?
A: last night I ate fried fish and this morning nothing. Plate

A: T-shirt and cotton shorts

Q25: What did you cry about recently or get mad about?
A: I got mad Steaming mad at Shiritsu bakaleya Koukou episode 7, because the love team now is very evident which I totally disagree. And cried Crying face when I saw the WakuWaku Gakkou schedule of arashi when one concert falls on my birthday.


Q26: What's your "my boom"?
A: Winking smile to be able to watch WakuWaku Gakkou on my birthday Birthday cake


Q27: What do you want to do now?
A: sleep. I just want to take my rest since the school year is again starting.

Making an introduction for yourself is hard since I always believe that everyday there’s something you discover about yourself. You can’t just put things into words that easy, and I believe despite of what I wrote in this I still believe this is not enough. Yes, I will be honest, this maybe not half of who I am but I told myself that I will try my best to at least break down who I am and might be for others who will read this finds this enough.

The transition of this post started with my name; because your name shapes you in some way for it has a meaning that your parents would want you to be or that’s how you are to them.

I believe that I am gift to anyone who will know me and to anyone who will become my friend.
