Aww, yay :D And yeah, the feeling I have in general and had in this fic is that it could have been something if Gakuto wasn't so flighty. Like, Shishido is just so temperamental and Gakuto isn't the brightest bulb in the box... XD; Shishido would have been good for Gakuto in the end, as well, if Gakuto hadn't made the wrong choice, basically. But I think things would work out for him with Hiyoshi.
He really does. When he's not leading him astray, he's ditching him at just the wrong moment... I think the problem is, when Yuushi and Gakuto appeared first together in canon, there was enough hinting at a pairing that fandom went wild and basically fanonized them. But then, when Nationals and Fuun Shounen Atobe rolled around, suddenly there are possibly more canon pairings for Gakuto, and no one quite knows what to do, because Yuushi is so expected with Gakuto... *shrug* As someone who came late to fandom, I feel almost as if Hiyoshi and Shishido have more validity with Gakuto based solely on canon. Not that I don't love OshiGaku, because I do thank you Saitou and Ruito but it isn't necessarily the most canon-based pairing for Gakuto, I don't think.
