Finally, I'm getting around to writing my report from NEWS's Quartetto concert in Tokyo Dome. Better late than never? I'm sorry I'm awful about doing these things on time T__T;

At any rate, I really enjoyed this concert tour, but I had some hesitations about seeing it in Tokyo Dome. I've had very few really good experiences in Tokyo Dome; because it's so huge and hard to see something from any view and anything from some views, I feel like the best view I've ever had there is mediocre. From the arena, you can sort of see the closest stage and catwalk area but nothing else; from the lower stands you can what what's close to you okay but everything else is a tiny speck and you can't even tell who is who from how small their faces seem. From the front few rows of the fourth floor, you can see sort of a good overview but it's hard to get super into it because you're so removed; from the back of the fourth floor stands, you can see an even tinier view of the whole show, but you're so far back that the sound takes too long to travel to your ears and everything is slightly off. And don't even get me started on the lower stand outfield seats-- Gate 25 stands are the absolute worst. You're behind the main stage, so the "best" view that you have is of their backs, and the biggest screen, the one behind the main stage, is at an angle such that you can't really watch it, so there's not a good screen, either.

Based on my past experiences with all of these views of Tokyo Dome, and after having an amazing time in the tiny Nagoya venue where, even in our seats pretty far away from the stage, we were able to see them up close, I was trepidatious about how the show would be in Tokyo Dome. But luckily, it was much, much better than I had expected!

NEWS Quartetto Tour, Tokyo Dome, June 11th @ 6 pm )

Whew. I'm glad I finally got that done! It was a really great show, so I want to share it with everyone. ♥

This is really late, but during spring break, [livejournal.com profile] yomimashou and I went around to the various locations in Tokyo to see the Sensations costumes! Sadly, unlike last year, we weren't able to go to any locations outside of Tokyo, but at least we got to see three different sets of costumes! While I know photos aren't really as exciting as the real thing, I wanted to share details of what we saw here!

There are also a few photos of KAT-TUN 10KS promotional stuff under the cut, because I have a lot of feelings about 3-member KAT-TUN lol. Sorry about that >_>;

Sensations costumes! )

It's really fun when Johnny's lets us see the costumes up close, and I'm sad that they don't do it more often. Still, I'm glad that I was even able to see these!

I'm so proud of the uchiwa that I made for NEWS's Quartetto tour that I took way too many pictures, but I really want to share them here. Since my IRL friends group is four people, I was really excited that it worked out that we could do a complete set of four! It's so adorable that NEWS has shapes and colors, and that fact really lends itself to making cute uchiwa, so I really wanted to take advantage of it. If you're interested to see more of what I made, check them out under the cut!

Sadly, our Koyama wasn't able to come with us to Nagoya, so I'm looking forward to using them all together in Tokyo a month from now!

Life is going about as shittily as it has been for the past two weeks, but I've been trying to have a little fun, too. Yesterday I laminated about 50 namecards that my students made in class to help them remember how to write their names properly in English when they get to JHS (the first day, before they learn anything, they have to write their names in permanent ink on their binders, so it's really sad if they mess up and have to live with it written wrong for the rest of the year), but while I was doing it, there was empty space in the lamination sheets that one of the kids' name cards wouldn't fit in. I obviously couldn't just chop off part of the kids' project, so I decided to cut down some of the colored paper and use it for my own nefarious purposes. |D;

I made some really cool gifts for my friends/myself. )

In other news, tomorrow is Inochan's Shimura Doubutsuen! Stoked~
faded_lace: (Daiki: ♡)
This is quite late, but on the last day of February, I gave out the last of my Valentine's Day chocolates to the other ALTs (foreign English teachers) in my city. We have a meeting once a month, so even though it was long after Valentine's day, it was my only chance to give them out. These ones were matcha and dark chocolate or almond milk chocolate and white chocolate tarts!

Late Valentines! )

All in all, my life hasn't been super exciting. It's that stressful, wrapping-up time of year, but last weekend we took a break and did a bunch of shopping in Tokyo, as well as spending time with [livejournal.com profile] ltgmars, which was super fun! Also, perhaps the insanity pushed me over the edge but I've fallen face-first into a crazy new ship and am knee-deep in the process of discussing it from every angle with my friends… undoubtedly it will leak into my LJ eventually, but for the time being, I'm too embarrassed, so I'll leave it at that. |D;
faded_lace: (Ohno: happiness)
I got the grand majority of my chocolates done this weekend! As usual, I'm making chocolates for my elementary school, my junior high, and the ALTs, but since I only see the other ALTs once a month, and significantly after Valentine's day, I have a little bit of leeway on those. So far, I've gotten three types of chocolate done, so while I haven't really stopped and taken good photos yet, I wanted to share what I've made!

Chocolates! )

Hopefully my coworkers like them!

This weekend, I started on this year's chocolate adventures. Last year, I was rushed and way too ambitious with my designs (placing individual sprinkles on each one probably takes like 2-3 minutes, so that means when doing a batch of 36, since things tend to come in 6 or 12, just the decoration itself takes more than an hour, sometimes almost two hours, not including the time it takes to make the chocolate itself!) so it was sort of stressful. So this year, I decided to do something simple, and I got the first batch (about 1/5 of the total work maybe?) done in a couple hours. I'm not in love with them since the design is so simple, but I figured I'd post them here to try to feel proud of them. XD

chocolates! )

At the very least, I got started really early, so hopefully I can get everything done well in time to hand them out at work on February 12th and 15th at my two schools and February 29th for the ALTs. Especially since next weekend I'm going to Tokyo… time to finally get my hands on the new JUMP shop photos and paparazzi photos of the countdown con!
faded_lace: (Reia: love me?)
After New Year's, I had a lot of new uchiwa from Countdown, as well as a new Inochan poster, and there was a lot of fan stuff in my apartment that was sort of disorganized even though I wanted to display it, so I took the time to get some new things up on my walls! It's not a lot, but I enjoy looking at it every day. ♥

Idol Decorating! )

My life is really cool, I know.

I realized it's been a really ling time since I've posted my nails! I do new nails about once a month, give or take… basically, whenever the old ones break, with upcoming events in mind. I try to have nice new nail designs for concerts to match my outfit on the day of the concert, or else in member colours, though of course sometimes it doesn't work out that way. XD; So here are my nails from September 2014 until November 2015~

Nail designs! )

I know they're not very exciting designs, and definitely not as good as something done by a pro, but I have fun doing them, at any rate. Hopefully I can remember to post them more often. XD;

At long last, the uchiwa are finally done! As always, they're not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with how they came out. The theme was the letterman jackets from the s3art tour (everyone's favourite costumes right now… XD) and I think they fit the theme. I made Ino-chan for me, Yabu for [livejournal.com profile] yomimashou, and Keito for [livejournal.com profile] britkit27~

Uchiwa! )

Now we just have to hope that we hit for the Osaka Countdown Concert ahaha.

As promised, I come bearing photos of kuji goods! I don't want to think about how much I spent on this kuji in total, but it's so worth it! The goods were all so cute, and I'm really happy with them. ♥

Kuji & Collab Goods! )

I'm so grateful that JUMP finally got a 7-11 Kuji. ;____; It's all finally ended and they took down all the banners, sadly, but it was so wonderful while it lasted. I hope that eventually they'll have another!

A week ago, I had an enkai (work party) for my elementary school, and on top of being a lot of fun, there was also some delicious food! I only got two photos, but since they always have such nice presentation at these things, I wanted to share them.

Appetizers and Nabe! )

Sadly, I always miss the big year-end parties because they're often right before Christmas, at which time I'm already with my family. Since Christmas isn't a big family holiday in Japan,
my family-time doesn't quite line up with Japanese family-time (on New Year's). Either way, I'm glad that I got to go to this party since I'm going to miss the ones in December!
faded_lace: (Inoo: cosy)
Just a quick drive by post because I need to get to bed, but here's a few photos of what I did today ♥

Happy birthday to you~♪ )

In other news, my CDs are in transit. >__< Dammit, Amazon. I should get them tomorrow, but I won't have a chance to watch them before Waku Waku since I'm going out of town after work on Friday and I have to pack tomorrow night and all that. Well, more to look forward to, I guess.
faded_lace: (Inoo&Hikaru: upward)
I'm super exhausted and not really coherent, but I'm back from NEWS, etc! The concert was actually way more fun than I was expecting; our seats weren't as bad as I thought and I could actually see fairly well. I had a really good time!

The only other really exciting thing that I did was go secondhand shopping and paparazzi shopping. |D; I got a few vintage goods and some photos, which isn't actually very exciting at all, but oh well. XD;

Ino-chan goods and photos! )

The other good news is that my friends and I hit for every day we wanted to go to for Yokohama Arena for JUMP! Sadly, we didn't hit for Nagoya, but oh well. We can choose our seats. XD;
faded_lace: (Jun: smile)
Yesterday, I went in to Tokyo to do some "errands" (read as: fun shopping), and I was successful on all counts! I was exhausted when I got back, but it was totally worth it for shop photos, clothes, concert accessories, and a new bag!

Photos under here! )

Today, I got to relax~ I've been enjoying the reports from Waku-Waku Gakkou, including this one:
Inoo:I won't lose to the likes of Arashi! (self-satisfied)
Arashi:Oi! Who said that! (laughing)
Inoo:Arioka did!!
Arioka:What?! Inoo did!! Iio!!!!
Jun:Oi, Iio!!!!!
Oh, man, I can't even wait for Waku-Waku in Tokyo. XD;; I hope Inoo gets to do as much as he seemed to get to do in Osaka! He also said that in 10 years he wanted to have a show called "Ino-san" ahaha. How cute is he.
faded_lace: (Genki: warm)
It's been a while now (oops) since I saw Sexy Zone in Yokohama Arena, but I wanted to post the few photos I have from the experience! It's just the usual, but I figured some people might be interested.

Sexy Power Tour )

I have a lot of stuff on my plate (I know I keep saying that @__@) but I'm going to try to get all the stuff I have to share out within the next month or so. I still have a lot of shows to go to through June, but… ganbarimasu XD;
faded_lace: (Chinen&Takaki: intimacy)
I'm not sure how common knowledge this was in foreign fandom, but for about two weeks in March, the Korosensations PV costumes were available to be seen from close up in a variety of music stores around Japan. I wasn't able to go to Fukuoka, Osaka, or Hokkaido, but I saw all of the costumes in the Kantou and Chubu regions, so I figured I'd post the photos here. ^^

I guess it's not that exciting to see photos of the costumes rather than seeing them in person, but I do have a few observations and insights to add, so if you're interested, please check below the cut. ^^

Sensations~ )

And with that, we managed to see at least one costume for every member of JUMP Sensations! Sadly Inoo's exciting costume was in Osaka, and there was no way I was paying for the shinkansen just to see the costume, but I was excited even just for what I was able to see! I hope that Johnny's does this again sometime, because it was really cool to see all the costumes up close ♥

I'm not going to address the news today because I'm too tired of Johnny's crap, and moreover, simply because I don't want to focus on it. As it is, I got hit (minorly) by a car on the way to work today, and I really just don't want to think about unpleasantly things. So instead, I'm going to post photos of the chocolates I made for Valentine's day! I don't care how unrelated that is. XD;

I don't like baking (they say baking is like science, and despite both my parents being chemistry PhDs and my little sister starting a chemistry PhD program next year, I'm not a science person), but I enjoy making artistic food, so I really enjoy the Japanese Valentine tradition. I love giving gifts (sometimes to the point that people think I'm weird, oops) and I have fun making cute designs, so I really look forward to this time of year… even if no one gives me anything for White Day, sigh.

This year, what with my eye surgery and miscellaneous life problems, I was a bit rushed, but I still managed a few different things!

Chocolates under here! )

I'm planning on making more for the end of the year to give to the teachers as a "thank you for putting up with me for a year" sort of gift, so hopefully I'll have more to show off soon! The end of the year, among other things, sucks, but I like to look on the bright side. ♥

I'm back~

Whew!! Finally back and getting my shit together from my Tokyo weekend! I've been totally sleep deprived and busy, hence my four day absence from LJ (I know you all missed me), but I'm trying to get the situation under control, and I'm going to try to get my last France post done tomorrow!

As for right now, I just wanted to stop by and say that this weekend was totally awesome. I hadn't really known what to expect, but J's Party was really amazing. The Bakaleya guys were great, and Sou + MatsuMatsu were great, and out of all of them, Yugo was seriously wonderful. ♥ That boy!! I had forgotten how much I love him because he get so few chances to shine, but he truly made the show amazing. I'm going to do (my best to do) a formal write up, but I just wanted to mention how wonderful it was.

I also got a lot of things I wanted/needed to get this weekend! )

And now I'm going to try to actually get to bed at a decent hour for once. x__x; Here's to hoping I can get back onto a semi-normal sleep schedule!
faded_lace: (Yabu&Takaki: you & me)
I promise that one day I'll stop flailing over JUMP and actually do something productive, but for now… have a few photos of my JUMP weekend two weeks ago XD

s3art tour in Yokohama Arena~ )

Maybe one day I'll stop listening to Oh! Idol on repeat. Maybe.
