Today was exhausting. I had to meet a new coworker (the replacement for someone who I really, really disliked and who was generally a rude, racist, sexist asshole, so I was glad that he was being replaced, but also nervous that his replacement might be equally awful) and teach the class of kids who have intense behavioral issues, and then also teach an observation lesson that parents would be watching, so I was pretty much dreading the day from when I woke up in the morning. Luckily, I had a brand-new shirt to wear for the first time, and I felt like my outfit looked great and fashionable despite being a modified suit outfit (I had to wear a suit jacket for the observation lesson, but wore a cardigan for the rest of the day), and I also think my makeup looked great. For me, feeling like I look good in the morning and having that confidence boost can really make or break a day for me, so I started off on a good foot!

And then I met the new coworker, and he was, as far as I could tell, polite and respectful and not awful! When I had first met the previous awful guy and he found out I had way more experience than him, he'd gotten all up in arms and told me that I "had to respect him" and tried to nitpick literally everything I did to a ridiculous extent. The new coworker, when I told him I'd been working at my school for 4 and a half years, responded, "Wow, you must really know your stuff, then!" When Japanese coworkers, including the principal of the school asked the previous asshole guy to do anything, he'd say "WHAT?? Speak English!!" and argue with everything they asked of him. The new guy was very careful to be polite to my coworkers and do whatever was asked of him without getting in the way or being a bother. I don't really know anything about his personality and I don't think we're going to be best friends or anything, but I already have a positive impression of him. It's amazing how much just a respectful and polite attitude can get things off to the right start! (Also, as an aside, it's amazing how horrible and entitled and generally gross some foreign people can act in Japan.)

The horrible class was maybe slightly less horrible than they're fully capable of being, and then the parent observation class went fine, and randomly, one kid ran up to me outside of class announcing, "Everyone's talking about how Miranda-sensei is really good at kanji! Actually, katakana, hiragana, and kanji, the rumor is that all your writing is really neat and good!" Which was really cute, and made me feel good about myself. XD I'm not sure where this "hearsay" came from, but I was flattered, especially coming from a ten year old who really clearly was just saying it with no ulterior motive, and not trying to suck up to me, or anything like that.

And then I came home and watched the Emma PV a bunch of times, so all in all, it was actually a pretty successful day! I'm exhausted now, and ready for the weekend, but I'm glad that I was able to get through this day!

As I mentioned, today my kids had tests, so I basically had the whole day free to catch up on stuff. I was able to:
→ finish planning my ALT day
→ study Japanese at length
→ reply to comments on my LJ (I'm sorry sometimes I get so behind on this ;__;)
→ relax??

However, I didn't really plan anything in advance, like writing a fic, for Inochan's birthday tomorrow, so I feel kind of like a bad person. T__T;;; I wrote a fic last year, and I feel like I'm really dropping the ball this year. OTL I'm a bad fan.

But at least we're going to have cake and since it's my friends' and my regular skype-and-watch-idol-stuff day, we'll watch Inochan videos and at least hopefully have a halfway decent Inoo party.

Also, he has a crazy number of TV appearances coming up, so I'm looking forward to that ♥ And everyone watch out for me in the Doctor X Special on July 3rd!!!

One: JUMP announced a new single! Idk what's up with the title or the fact that there's a B-side called "We are Otoko no Ko" ("We are Boys") but you know what? I'm not complaining! XD Yay for a new single. ♥ It's pretty much on the same schedule as last year, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a tour announcement soon!

Two: Starting tomorrow, I'm going to be traveling out of town with parents until April 3rd. I'll be checking on my phone, and comments/PMs reach me by email, but I won't be around much to post or comment.

Three: Today is my last day at work for the school year, which feels weird and bittersweet but also like I'm so glad people I don't like are retiring. Hopefully they don't move my desk while I'm gone; the inside of the drawers are so messy right now >__>

Four: I have to pack when I go home. Yuck.

Five: My friends are going to the Sexy Zone tour this weekend in Nagoya, so I'm interested to see how that goes.

Six: time put ur hand up~ (tomereru ka? orera wo~)

Seven: The sakura have started blooming at my school! I hope that means the ones in Tokyo and Kansai will bloom while my parents are here ♥

Eight: Catch everyone in April!

Life is going about as shittily as it has been for the past two weeks, but I've been trying to have a little fun, too. Yesterday I laminated about 50 namecards that my students made in class to help them remember how to write their names properly in English when they get to JHS (the first day, before they learn anything, they have to write their names in permanent ink on their binders, so it's really sad if they mess up and have to live with it written wrong for the rest of the year), but while I was doing it, there was empty space in the lamination sheets that one of the kids' name cards wouldn't fit in. I obviously couldn't just chop off part of the kids' project, so I decided to cut down some of the colored paper and use it for my own nefarious purposes. |D;

I made some really cool gifts for my friends/myself. )

In other news, tomorrow is Inochan's Shimura Doubutsuen! Stoked~

Today was my birthday! It was a bit hectic at first, but then at work, two teachers made the class sing happy birthday to me, which was awkward, but cute. XD; Also, some girls who like NEWS finally talked to me about Johnny's in one of my 6th grade classes, and when I said I liked JUMP, said that Inoo was cute… and when I said I liked Inoo they got really excited and ran away giggling. Cute ♥

Then, after work it was the FNS Kyousai, which actually did NOT have KAT-TUN because it's being split up between two days? But I didn't know this because I'm an idiot. So there was more time, and JUMP got to perform twice! First, they sang UMP and Kimi Attraction wearing adorable suits with member-coloured pocket squares, and then for the second song, they sang Santa Claus Is Coming To Town wearing their member-coloured plaid outfits from JUMPing CARnival (the outfits from Tada Mae E, Wo Ai Need You, and Asu E no Yell) with MATCHING MEMBER COLOURED SANTA HATS. It was basically everything I didn't realize I needed.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] yomimashou brought me a cake, and then [livejournal.com profile] britkit27 and [livejournal.com profile] 9kinds skyped with us and sang me happy birthday, and all in all, it was great. Thanks for being wonderful friends ♥

And thank you to everyone on LJ for putting up with me for these years! Yoroshiku for another year~ ♥

I need to get to bed, and don't have time for a long post, but I have a few drive-by things to say:

I found out today from the landlord that she's planning to take the cat to get fixed! I'd been worrying about her getting attacked by boy kitties (and I've also been worrying about her ongoing eye issues that seem like conjunctivitis), so I asked the landlord, and she said she was already planning to take the cat to the vet. I'm so happy that my landlord is such a conscientious cat person! Even to the stray cats that she doesn't actually own. ;___; So nice.

Also, the speech contest is tomorrow and I'm crazy nervous ;; Wish me luck!

Whew! Despite almost no one being at school and there being no classes, this week is turning out pretty packed for me! Between working on fannish projects, helping my students learn their speeches for the speech contest, and helping the new ALTs, it's not as relaxing as I was hoping. But I'm getting stuff done! That's what matters. Still, I have a bunch of mundane stuff backed up that I need to get done, like putting my shop photos into albums and finishing unpacking (I know, I suck T__T;) that still haven't happened. Oh well, one thing at a time.

And! Less than a week until I see JUMP in Nagoya~ So excited with all the reports coming in today from Hiroshima. I can't wait!

Today has turned out to be a much better day than yesterday. ♥ I did personal productive things like go through my photos on my phone, and I feel like all of my classes went well today at work, too. For a postcard project for their Japanese class, one student even wanted to send a postcard to me in the summer! I'm really happy that she chose me out of all the teachers in the school.

And then I came home and ate Chinese food and watched more old Ya-ya-yah episodes, which was beautiful. Ino-chan was so cute! There was even an episode where he and Hikaru were a team, awww. Hikaru kept looking at him all starry eyed. And Inoo was so much taller than him back then. Adorable.

The only thing that sucks is that the rainy season continues despite it already being July. What is wrong with the weather this year, sheesh. I'm getting sick of getting drenched on the way to school and then again on the way home.

But on the bright side, I also got my refund in the mail from the ballot that I didn't hit with for JUMP! So that means I get more money back as soon as I can take it to the post office and cash it, woo.

Here's to hoping that tomorrow is also good. ♥

I started to write a Crea writeup, but work was too busy today, and I had a ton of over-work, so I ended up not being able to finish. I'll try to get it done tomorrow!

Teaching elementary the day after a concert and 5 hours of trains is exhausting @__@; Today was a particularly rough day due to some 12 year olds who think they're too cool for school, but… I came home and watched several episodes of TakaChii in France, and that totally made up for it! I watched the beginning of the show back in 2013, shortly after it aired, but I stopped about 4 episodes in and never picked it up again for a variety of reasons. Now that late 2011 ~ early 2013 are firmly in the past, it's much more enjoyable, and though I'd seen all of the episodes I watched again today, I'm looking forward to continuing this time.

My life is so exciting, I know. |D;

[EDIT] I counted just now, and my last time at Karafuto Ojisan was my 50th Johnny's event! Happy 50 to me! I know it's not that big of a deal, but it seems like it is, anyway XD;

Back from the long weekend in Tokyo! Despite feeling sort of under the weather, I was able to have an awesome time~ I'll post a more detailed post later, but I was able to go shopping on Saturday and got a bunch of clothes that I'd been wanting plus a bunch of freebies and some stuff for work, Sunday was a really amazing day at Disney Sea with [livejournal.com profile] yararanger, where we got Duffy keychains that we named Fu, Yuta, and Reia (and that I'm going to try to make shirts or something for), and then on Monday I got to meet the lovely [livejournal.com profile] talisa_ahn and [livejournal.com profile] enshinge as well as seeing [livejournal.com profile] snowqueenofhoth for the first time in a long time, and then snacks and soda with [livejournal.com profile] doctoggy! The whole weekend was a lot of fun and I'm glad that I managed to stay well for most of it, even if I'm losing my voice a bit still. Also even if Reia was unexpectedly in the ABC-Z con and I didn't see him >__<;

Today, on the other hand, I've been totally dead x__x We had a pretty big earthquake today, as well, and all the kids freaked out in class. It was only a 4 in my city, but hard enough that stuff fell off my shelves (first time ever) at home. I also am having ongoing issues getting new glasses-- they decided to prescribe me a much lower prescription than at home? And also different in my two eyes despite them being the same before? And it seemed fine when they were testing me, but the glasses make me dizzy and give me a headache and make me nauseated. So. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do >___<;;;

Sorry for all the whining >__>; TL;DR I had a really good weekend but today sort of sucked.
faded_lace: (Ohno: happiness)
I've just updated my JE fic archive and general archive, and I've discovered that… yes, my most recent fic was my 100th Johnny's and Associates fic~! Yay me! That might not seem like that much, but since I've been working hard to get back into the habit of writing more often and not losing out to writer's block, so I'm really happy that I've been able to come this far!

So… that makes up for the fact that this work week has been totally crazy (3 more days x__x) and the speech contest is on Thursday, and my eye is still acting up, and I have tons of stuff to do. Hopefully I can take some motivation from this and survive until the weekend. x__x;

Also, I'm loving this compilation of Matsuri fanservice shots. I told you Gengen and Jinchan got close XD Also that Genki looked super DNW when Jinchan touched him |D;;;

[this was supposed to be posted last night but LJ went down on me right as I was posting. fml.]

Whew. Despite the fact that I did almost nothing today, it was somehow really emotionally draining. The opening ceremony was like 100% the principal and various teachers telling the kids they weren't trying hard enough, which, for obvious reasons, was not easy for me to deal with, and then I had to go to do speech practice, which is always stressful because I feel like I'm letting my kid down, and then I had to go to a meeting. But on the bright side, I did go to coffee with some other ALTs, which was nice. And now I've been vegetating and trying to gather the mental fortitude to face the new semester.

But!! All that aside, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] snow!! ♥ I'm sorry I don't have anything for you right now, but I ♥ you and I hope that you have an amazing day!

Lastly, I'm hoping to get another report done by tomorrow, but don't hold me to that x___x; I've been so unproductive lately, ugh.

As of today, my last major obligation of summer is done! By major obligation, I mean all the meetings and other work trips I had to go on for orientation and what have you. But now I'm free for three whole days before school starts up again! Yay!

That means I'll have time to:
♫ sign up for [livejournal.com profile] je_holiday!
♫ write all the reports x__x
♫ edit photos for posting!
♫ update my archive and AO3 and everything!
…and more!

But for now, I need to get to bed x__x; I've been staying up way too late this whole summer. When school starts up again and I have to actually be in on time, I'm going to be so sorry T___T;;

Ahaha JiguRea bot is my hero. It always catches stuff I missed or reminds me of old stuff and makes me feel happy. XD; Also, I'm comforted to know how many JiguRea fans there are out there in Japanese fandom, as well. Hooray for comrades in shipping! Maybe there will even be doujin one day… unlikely but I can dream. |D; At any rate, I enjoy this gem:

Takahashi:「Also, I totally know Reia's weak point.」
Iwahashi・Kishi:「What what what?」
Takahashi:「For some reason、he's weak to Jinguji!」
Iwahashi:「Ah~ Yeah, somehow, I can see that!」

In other news, I was hoping to post my fic from [livejournal.com profile] je_wakamono this weekend, but it seems like reveals were delayed a bit, so I'll hopefully be able to post it tomorrow! I'm in anticipation to see who wrote mine so I can shower them with love and appreciation. XD;

In terms of health, I do think I'm on the mend. Slow but steady, as they say. I have an ALT day tomorrow and Tuesday at different schools, so I'm a bit worried about how that'll go, but… ganbarimasu!

life sucks

It's my second day home from school and I feel like crap… I didn't have a fever for most of yesterday, but I have one today (well, for me… my normal body temperature is around 36.3, but I've been around 37.6 all day) and I honestly feel like I got run over by a truck of something. My throat hurt like crazy yesterday and this morning but it feels a little better now… but my body feels achey and sore, and my head feels constantly in the state of having just woken up where nothing feels like it really makes sense and everything is hazy and in slow motion. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I really hope that I feel better before tomorrow. I have an ALT day that I need to run on Friday and I can't be sick that day… but I need to prepare for it tomorrow.

At any rate, I haven't really been able to do much (being upright is a bit rough) but I did manage to update my archives for the first time in a really long time. So, here's my general archive and JE archive, completely up to date~

tired x__x

Today was, for some reason, really frustrating and exhausting. x___x; A bunch of little things built up and made me feel incapable of doing anything productive. I also had to hear a kid getting yelled at, which is basically the worst, because I know it's not going to effectively help anyone, especially not the kid, and it just makes me upset. But… what are you going to do, I suppose.

At any rate, I started a fic, and I have the weekend off, so I'm going to try to finish it and maybe do something else vaguely useful! I've still been in a weird place mentally and emotionally since Crea, but I think I'm getting past it, finally. I'll watch last week's Gamushara again with [livejournal.com profile] 9kinds tomorrow, where Reia was totally adorable, and just try to focus on the good. That's all there really is to do, right?

In other news, I discovered that actually, Jinguji and Reia are the only two juniors to have been in every single Sexy Zone PV to date. Is that adorable or what? ♥

TGIF!

I'm glad I made it through this week (and Reia helps but is otherwise unrelated… XD) after the madness of classes really getting under way. I think elementary is going well so far (after one class for each class of 5th and 6th grade XD) but only time will tell for both elementary and junior high. It's been a really stressful and tiring late winter into early spring, but I'm really hoping things are starting to look up now. So, on the note of things being positive, here are some things I have to look forward to.

☆ Gamushara tomorrow night! Really excited for episode two~

☆ Trip to Hiroshima starting one week from tomorrow! I'm excited to see [livejournal.com profile] 9kinds again, and to go to Hiroshima again, and then for the Sexy Zone concert and Yokohama leg of the trip the next week!

☆ A relaxing weekend to make up for my sleep deficit and hopefully prepare me for next week~

☆ Shounen Club selection special on Wednesday~

☆ Myojo coming out with a Sexy Zone pouch next month~ Also Reia is still billed specially on the "next time" page online and in the magazine, so yay~

…hopefully that's enough to get me positive! Now time to get some rest and try to get the weekend off to a good start~
